    Nox Security

"Nox Security" is a Play Store app and has nothing to do with Samsung Knox, which as said is only a preinstalled app on Samsung devices. If Nox came already installed on the Blu phone as a system app you may not be able to remove it unless it has an Uninstall option in the app settings. If it...

    Galaxy S24 Series

I think after the Note 7 debacle Samsung put extra attention into its batteries and battery management, so that's probably the last thing you have to worry about. I bought my S9 used on Swappa over 5 years ago. I usually keep the battery close to full, on wireless at home or work and plugged in...

    Post Your Last Purchase

There's a big difference between burning a perfectly good flag in anger, and properly disposing of one at the end of its useful life.

Unless it's a pre-installed system app, in which case that option will probably not be available.

    Maps weather display

It's just a small icon on the left with temp and AQI, it expands if you tap it to show a little more info. Not a big deal IMO and easily ignored.

    Online Police/Fire Radio Scanner

I've had Scanner Radio on my phones for years, haven't used it much lately. As a long-time ham operator and general radio guy I've always had plenty of scanners and other radios around, I have a Radio Shack Pro2004 which was one of the best analog scanners ever made. These days it sits unused...

I'm getting Malwarebytes warnings now as well.

    Forums blocked on corporate network

Ah ok I probably read that too just forgot. Wonder why it took this long to get blocked, it's been working on that network since the change up until today. Oh well it is what it is, nothing I can do about it.

    Forums blocked on corporate network

This just started happening today at a place I'm working at and connecting to their corporate guest wifi. Only the forums are being blocked (as malware) not the main site. I don't have access to IT here to inquire about it but perhaps management could look into why the forums might be blocked. I...

Wireless charging for Moto G Pure

I've never gotten a moisture warning on my S9. Sometimes when I first plug it into the car charger it takes more than once before it charges properly, more so when it's cold outside. That's minor and otherwise it just works.

    Charging connected USB device

Nick is our resident old-device guy and is willing to do what it takes to keep the old stuff going. As a more casual user, you may find the S5 somewhat iffy now as a daily-use device. While it was a great phone in its day and I loved mine, it comes up somewhat short these days as far as...

Wireless charging for Moto G Pure

Actually Nick it's the opposite- The two coils (in the phone and the charger) basically are a transformer, and in order for it to work there cannot be anything metallic or conductive between them. Qi-enabled phones will only have plastic or glass backs. Try putting some aluminum foil between...

Wireless charging for Moto G Pure

Sorry it's a low-end phone and does NOT have wireless charging. The third-party adapter linked above may work in the short term, but it will likely cause the battery to overheat and eventually fail (assuming it isn't bad already).

    Breaking and Entering

Before you pull the trigger on one of these systems, do some research on their privacy and security policies and any breaches or issues. Some do not protect your data very well and can even expose your camera feeds to others. You want to be more safe, not less-

    Big Changes at Android Forums

The site came up but the forum page had a "down for maintenance" message. Perhaps you weren't on at that time. Not the same as when it was getting blocked.

If you're using Google Messages, go to Device Pairing in the settings.

If I mouseover or click on your name or avatar next to your post there is an option to Start a Conversation. Selecting that opens a message window.

Samsung neigbor wants to use my mobile hotspot. Can I limit sharing to her device and 2GB? Can I block my phone from downloading? Can I filter domains?

It's a bad idea. Service providers generally frown on people using their phone hotspot as a primary internet connection and may disable it for what they deem to be excessive use. Also it's likely there is a monthly data cap on the hotspot which may be independent from your main phone data. For...

    PM's / DM's

As far as I can see they never left. There is a letter icon at the top of the page next to your user name, for "Conversations". Or there should be, if it's not there maybe something changed with a recent update that affects certain users.
