Any one had this happen? Suddenly my phone is back on today and I haven't paid the monthly payment that was due almost a month ago. I wasn't planning on paying it for another week since my next paycheck was going to the washer and dryer bill since my parents couldn't pay it this time around.
I...
If you are trying to flash a custom PH44IMG zip file or tried using the RUU and get a version is too old error, it's because the version string stored in the misc partition got flashed to a version that is newer and doesn't officially exist. Thus the official RUU will fail to install to it. (a...
This stock rom is only for the Boost Mobile version of the phone. You will get a version is too old error if you are on the Sprint version!
Don't have or want CWM? Well I finally got a method of rooting this phone that does NOT require CWM at all! Only downside to it is that this method will...
Please note this is only for Boost phones at the moment.
CWM is no longer required to flash this rom.
If you don't have or want CWM, then you can download the hboot version and flash it to your phone via hboot. Link further down in this post.
Here's my first ever rom. It's stock rom with...
If you unlocked your bootloader and rooted the phone since you got it and performed the OTA update released this month (after reinstalling stock recovery since OTA updates won't work if CWM in installed), there is a high probability that you will encounter a bug in Android resulting in 4G and/or...
Another usefull tidbit of information. CDMA Workshop/QPST don't seem to work this phone. So I had to figure out how to use a Sprint PRL on my Boost phone.
I discovered an alternate way for this phone that turned out to be easier then using CDMA Workshop or QPST. :D
First off find the prl you...
EDIT: This thread is now obsolete. Instead, all users both Sprint and Boost can use this zip file to flash root to the phone via CWM. Thanks to the hard work of zombu2 for the root installer edits and 2fast4u88 for the CWM port, there is now a faster way of rooting and users can still retain...
Looks like ClockWorkMod that was made for Sprint's Design 4G can be used on the Boost Mobile version.
After a small edit to the txt file in the update zip to give it the correct CID, it will then flash and operate correctly on the Boost version of the phone when using hboot to flash CWM. First...
I made myself a pretty cool boot animation that merges the Murky Beats animation with the stock animation.
However it's not a simple splice job in Virtual Dub. I did more then just putting two animations together. Youtube video previewing it:
Boost Mobile version...
I've gotten around to uninstalling a few things I don't need and the first thing I removed was Mobile ID. Main reason is that I don't use it and I want the Browser icon to be on my dock icon bar at the bottom. But after uninstalling Mobile ID, the icon is still there (but doesn't work...
I have changed the topic title. Now that I changed the MSL back to the original one the phone originally had and in turn got DM mode working, I am now in need of help with my primary problem. I can't get the phone to activate. I get a intermittent error code 131 network error when the phone...
Well had some bad luck with my Prevail. The connector for the touch screen had it's retainer plastic brake off while I was trying to remove the ribbon cable. :( (which means there is no practical way of keeping the cable in contact with the contact pins. Thus this means no working touch screen)...
I have two issues. The main problem I have is Bluetooth is not pairing with my computer. I remember it working when I first got the phone but now it just quit wanting to pair.
I get this error when I try to pair bluetooth from the phone:
"There was a problem pairing with [Name of my computer]...
I received a request for my boot animation. Couldn't really find another thread for this since the boot animation gallery thread I did find was in the Droid section of the forums. I designed this boot animation for my Prevail, so I'll keep it here.
Screenshot of boot screen: (this boot screen...
I had made the EXT4 partitions on my 8GB sd card for use with Kouma Kernel and have since installed apps and widgets that are now using space on the card instead of the internal phone storage.
Now that I've upgraded to a 16GB card, I've repartitioned it accordingly to match the old card (though...
Any one else having issues getting the Youtube app to work? The mobile version of the site also does not work. It says "Sorry, this video cannot be played" and the Youtube mobile app spits out a "Unable to connect to server. Touch to retry" error. The odd thing is, the youtube app works if I...
Ok, I've noticed that a coworker I work with has the exact same phone as me, only that it's on ClearTalk and not Boost Mobile. It had Froyo on it instead of Gingerbread and going to update it brings up the "system is up to date" message.
The thing I'm wondering is...does the Odin roms and stuff...
