Just to update, I was wrong and it is 5. Since turning on the notification history I have identified one that made the sound without a message. It was Samsung keyboard. God only knows what triggered that but I went back into show system apps in Notifications and found it, along with a load more...
Hi Hadron, thanks for that. When I tapped show system apps a number of the ones that came up had notifications enabled and I've turned them off so we'll see what difference that makes. I found notification history was turned off. I've enabled that so hopefully if we get any more I can now track...
My wife has a Samsung A41 runnung Android 12. It frequently gives what I presume to be the default system alert sound (4 tones) but when she unlocks there is no indication of the source. Pulling down the notification panel there's nothing there, and no flags on any apps. I've been through...
Yes, I agree it seems very likely that Google won't regard it as a priority. Looking on the bright side if the aid manufacturer decides to do something about it at least it's possible to update the firmware using the app. One can live in hope.
I'm old enough to remember someone wearing a hearing aid consisting of a single earphone and a box hanging on a lanyard round their neck .
Yes the app does have a very basic equaliser : bass, mid and treble.
Me neither but it does. Assuming you're right about the S22 5G my phone ought to...
I've only recently bought my S22 so it will be a while before I upgrade again - I kept the last one for 7 years!
I didn't hesitate to go for a hearing test as soon as I became aware my hearing was getting poor. You'll probably laugh but I check my hearing by how well I can hear the bleeps from...
It is indeed disappointing. I can see you are not in the UK :). My aids were provided by the NHS so I don't have the option of exchanging them for different ones, even if compatible ones exist for my phone. From what I've gleaned it appears that I would have had a much wider choice and much...
I've had a very prompt response from the manufacturer. Looks like I'm out of luck :

Hi olbriar,
Thanks again for your reply. I always turn my phone off overnight and also my aids so I've effectively done what you suggest. In fact, as I mentioned in my edit to my earlier post I am now getting sound and vibration notifications from K-9 although not every time a new message comes...
I suppose this ought really to be in a separate thread as it's a bit off topic. However in answer to your questions:
I was going in via Settings > Notifications > App Notifications as shown in my earlier screenshots so I'm sure you're right in that the apps are 'doing their own thing'. As you...
On the subject of notifications is it me or have the Android notification settings become considerably more disorganised in recent versions? For example when trying to find and set an individual sound for each app there seems to be no consistency in the paths to the list of sounds. You have to...
I still can't get notifications back on the email client. All settings look correct, see attached screenshots, and I've even tried toggling each of them off and on to see if that will reset something.
I've now emailed the aid manufacturer to see whether they're aware of the overall problem...
Thanks olbriar, that's very interesting and useful information. Although my symptoms are not exactly the same as yours it's clear from what you've said I shouldn't expect to get my aids working properly with my phone while it's running Android 13. I think my aids are probably still in current...
Thanks for your reply. I think you're probably right that it's treating the aids as Bluetooth headphones. One thing I omitted to say was that I discovered I could stream audio files to the aids which tends to bear that out. Supposedly I should also be able to take phone calls through the aids...
I have a Samsung S22 running Android 13. Recently I was issued a pair of Danalogic Bluetooth hearing aids. These operate with an app called BeMore. Among the facilities available is audio streaming direct from the phone. I haven't changed any settings in the phone or the app to enable this but...
As I said, I'm using the same settings as in the earlier phone so I didn't think it was likely to be IMAP or SMTP settings. I have now resolved the problem. In the K-9 Mail account settings the folder types were all set to automatic. I set the sent folder to Sent and all is well.
Thanks to...
Hi Folks,
I recently replaced my old Samsung S5 with a new S22. This didn't come with Samsung's own email client and I didn't want to use Gmail so I installed K-9 Mail. This is mostly working ok, using IMAP with the same settings as the S5, but for some reason it won't save copies of sent mail...
As I said in an earlier reply I did not wish to use the cloud and as far as I can see there is no alternative so I'm just keeping the old conversations on my old phone and will refer to that when necessary. TBH I don't expect to need to do that very often, if ever.
I was able to do it within WhatsApp easily enough but I had trouble finding a way to do it in K9mail that I'd installed and Messages that came pre-installed. As I said above I eventually succeeded from within App Manager using the info I got from another forum.
Obviously not all user installed...
Thanks for your response olbriar. I rarely use my phone for audio and it niggles me that there's something I can't properly stop once started even if it is using minimal or no resources. Including a stop button wouldn't prevent those who want it to remain in the background from just pausing. It...
Whilst playing around with my new S22 I decided to try playing an audio file using Samsung Music. I was surprised to discover that I could then only pause the play - there's no stop button. Even after I closed the app (Recents button and Close All) it was still appearing in the notifications...
Thanks, but I've now sussed out how to do it. It's not, by any stretch of the imagination, intuitive and I found it on another forum after a web search.
I really don't understand the reasoning behind burying these settings so deeply. I also don't understand why they dont keep legacy sounds. I...
