    Note 7 signal reception

Anybody notice the radio reception is weak? I have my MXPE and Note 4 to compare to. Both appear significantly better with LTE signal. MXPE perhaps, but never thought would say that for the Note 4. Places where both of those devices work fine streaming video do not work with the Note 7. I...

MXPE review after three weeks use

Full disclosure: I actually was going to return it, but changed my mind. I had the RMA ready to go and reset the Pure to stock and all boxed up. Main reason for return was the heat with VR content. Went back to my Note 4 and realized I missed the stereo speakers and the smoother overall...

    S6 Sales Less Than Expected

Analysts actually call it a disaster. Even with sell-in noise to help distort launch sales the numbers are low. Perhaps a vague chance is seeing battery and sd options again! Nah.

    M9 getting hot afterall?

Phandroid links to an article and seeing other posts on sites suggesting it does get hot. Seems a "worthy" discussion topic at this point. Need more sampling, but initial reports are not suggesting it does not get toasty.

Will Verizon also offer the M9 64GB version?

Curious minds want to know. If so, perhaps $750 is my guess.

Could the M9 fall into the same sales trap as the S5?

Seems it could. Both are following already great products with relatively (for non tech types) nominal improvements. A big selling point is the display, but same 1080p as the M8. That said, if no Gear VR type add-on, 1080p is more than fine IMO. Maybe HTC is counting on just people due with...

Gear VR will likely be problematic with the S6

Samsung announced the Gear VR for the S6, but a few issues seems apparent based on experience with the Note 4 version. Most people will not get the 128GB version, so their storage along with the 20% more space hogging Lollipop will be small for the 32GB and even the 64GB versions. Content...

    Gear VR review

I ordered mine with free shipping Thursday afternoon and got it yesterday. +Good build +Comes with a hard case (device is already in it, along with sd card) +Fairly straight forward process Before putting the device on head: 1. Dragged the Gear sd card folders to my 128gb card 2. Installed the...

Note 4 Verizon version sometimes locking up

Anyone else have the problem? I am using the stock UI and of course no mods (by default). I waited until this week to confirm the trend. I am averaging about two lock-ups a week that result in the need of a battery pull. No common event that seems to provoke. Random.

Okay, I give: Where the heck are all the extended batteries?

Seems to be dragging on compared to the Note 3. I see one comically large 10,000 mah with a big case that makes it seem like a weapon. Zero Lemon I think. The 10000 Zero Lemon product size and case seems designed for surviving an atmosphere re-entry. Battery life now with the N4 is fine and...

    Note 4 Review: FWIW

Build = A No gap issue and nice solid feel (for plastic). Feels better in the hand than the Note 3 and iPhone Plus to me. Display = A+ Drop dead sexy. It truly makes the G3 display seem second tier and also better than the Plus. I still would have preferred the tech improvements leveraged...

    Z3v is a Z2 in Z3 clothing

Tomshardware questioned Sony and was told the display on the Z3v is the same as the Z2 and not the better Z3 display. Ironic and follows suit with a reduced spec camera. I agree with others stating Sony must have had some excess components to run out, so chose the NA market ;)

    How is the radio reception?

On VZW the S4 is barely average and the N3 is better (until a recent update borked it). I am reading some posts the N4 dBm is lower than the N3, but no word on the VZW version and only a few posts on the other versions. Not enough to even guess yet. Oh, Anybody afflicted with new device...

    Root Where's the Root?!

Not seen a post of a US version being rooted yet. I will treat the Verizon Note 4 arrogantly-later release as a blessing, since will not buy unless the following are apparent: 1. Can be rooted now 2. Easy to root. I do not want to mess with the boot loader (not that Samsung makes that easy...

Weak audio output from N4 audio jack

This has depressed me (as much as a device can at any rate), but the N4 has the weakest audio output of any device I have tested. I tested two N4s and same result. The audio output is WEAK from the jack and that is with 16ohm buds (Klipsch). I turned up to 13 (90%) and boosted the EQ to...

Note 4, or not Note 4... That is the question??

I have my preorder for Best Buy for the Note 4, but still debating the pros and cons IMO. The main pro frankly is the display and a gpu that actually was designed to support it (unlike the G3) and replaceable battery always a plus and prefer capacitive buttons. The potential cons though: 1...

No sd slot = bad business decision (IMO)

Why would you not put an sd slot on an Android device- especially this one wit h the specs? People do not usually look for devices with less basic features on a high end device, but might not purchase something if there are basic features missing- like an sd slot. This is especially ironic...

Hide the Z3 nav bar without root?

If Verizon offers this with 32GB, I would seriously consider it over my preorder of the Note 4. The one issue is the navigation bar that does not appear to hide like on the G3 with apps. Sony's rom appears more like the HTC M8's that also does not offer to hide it in apps. Just media. All...

Apple has a bendy display too!

Not to be outdone with Samsung's exotic Edge, Apple as folks may know now have released a new form fitting device. In spite of Apple's denial, the issue is very real. "Simple" solution is to not put it in your pant pockets, but a LOT of people carry their phones that way. None the less, the...

Anybody changing from the S4 to N4?

I did not bother with the S5 since was not as big a jump as the S3 to S4 and unlike those, the S5 did not have a 32gb option near the US. Note 4 seems a good upgrade, but goes from a one hand to two hand device. Might wait on the S6, since will be 64bit and by then, 32gb is hopefully...

Samsung Note 4 release timing Fail?

The iPhone 6 is apparently releasing on September 19th. Samsung announced over a month before release. Apple is announcing one week after, but likely releasing at least three weeks before Samsung. That seems a Charles Barkley level turrible contrast in execution of a launch. Samsung had...

    Moto X = Meh

First of all, the X does not have a sd slot, but the G does?? Good job, Moto! Not. 2300 MAH battery seems too small and is fixed. Has a 5.2" display, but the nav bar makes it a 4.7" display. The UI looks like it does an even worse job to hide the nav bar than the M8. Seems another case of...
