    .dup0 files in media folder of SD card - can I delete

    I have noticed a large amount of duplicate mp3 files in the media/ folder of my SD card on my Samsung Galaxy S2. They are all named filename.mp3.dup0 Obviously they are some sort of duplicate but can I delete them and how did they get there? :confused:
