Android 7.0 Nougat has a partial screenshot feature that is disabled by default. However, the developers of CM14.1 have enabled it on their nightly builds for supported devices.
For those with the 3rd generation Moto G, who also prefer a custom ROM instead of the stock firmware, you'll be happy to hear the first CM14.1 nightlies are now available to download.
