    Hi,

I've been using the Morotola Atrix for a month or so and now I'm moving to a SGSII. I've backup everything with "backup master" (which creates a bunch of folders on the phone's root memory...like look, apps, sms, etc). Can I install "backup master" on my SGSII, copy the folders from the Atrix and then "restore" everything? Or because it's a different phone it would not work? Is there another app that can do this?

    thanks

    Rafa

What exactly are you looking to backup and restore?

If possible everything...apps, the way each home screen is customized, etc.

Yeah I don't think that will be possible :(, if you are rooted you can backup data with titanium backup and it will keep your saved games and such if you root the new phone and restore the data, but things like screen setups aren't able to be restored that way. Not to mention if you are using a moto widget on the Atrix it will not be available on the SGS2. I would suggest for the screens to have both phones next to each other and set them up visually (yeah it is a pain but I have to set up my home screen at least 2x a week) You may be able to transfer system data via backups if you have both phones rooted but it could cause issues. If you aren't rooted I don't think you would even be able to try.

Yes, that is what I thought. Not that it is too much work, but technology has made us too lazy :)

How true :). If you get into flashing roms on your phone ever you will get very adept at setting up your home screens (or you will utilize fewer and fewer screens)
