I wouldn't call that "the solution" any more than any of the other suggestions in this thread.

My problem with that adapter you linked to is it's freaking HUGE and so either takes up valuable real estate in my center console, or protrudes from my ashtray compartment and need to be removed each time I want to close it.

These are reasons the Power Jolt adapter, with its flush, space conserving profile, is so endearing to me.

Bottom line, you need to have the data pins shorted for it to charge AC. Whether you do that in the adapter itself (the myTouch 3g I linked to) or in the cord (Power Jolt [or any other] + Naztech cable) is up to you.

I had a pile of USB cords sitting around anyway, and I can use any of them with the myTouch 3g adapter just fine. No real estate issue with my car, but I do understand what you're talking about. I'll keep the Power Jolt + Naztech in mind for when I do end up replacing the car this year, so thanks for that.

It's unfortunate, and a bit silly that we have to have a thread like this just to figure out how to properly charge our phones. Ah well :)

this is starting to piss me off. I bought the bracketron and it only has 1 input and using 3 cables on that, all showed me USB CHARGING

Would it work for my Samsung Galaxy SII? I'm talking about the 1000mA Car Cigarette Powered USB Adapter/Charger (DC 12V/24V).

    Thank you!
