If you own a 1st-gen Android Wear smartwatch, there's a good chance that the device will not be updated to Android Wear 2.0. Motorola and LG have announced Moto 360 and LG G Watch will not be getting the update and we won't be surprised if Samsung and Asus announce that the Gear Live and original ZenWatch will be left stranded with an older version of the OS.
The only 1st-gen smartwatch that may be updated to Android Wear 2.0 is the Sony Smartwatch 3 since it was the only Android Wear device in 2014 with embedded GPS. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee until Sony makes an official announcement.
