I.have an amazon prime membership and use AWS. Is there anyway I could lose access to these services if I root my fire? Thanks.

If you root your device you won't be able to access amazon video unless you unroot it.
you can use apps like "OTA rootkeeper" or "World Wide KindleFire" to do this process automatically note that the second will also let you watch amazon video content even if you're located outside of USA

    World Wide KindleFire

    OTA rootkeeper

Just to add... your root status is assessed at boot time. Once you unroot using OTA rootkeeper (or other), you'll need to reboot your Kindle Fire before you can successfully access your videos.
