I assumed that you could back everything up and restore it to a new ROM, but maybe this only works when going to the same version. When I upgraded my fiance's Hero from 1.5 to 2.1 based ROM and restored via titanium, Rosie kept force closing. Too much of a leap?!

    I'm going from a modaco ROM to a 2.2 ROM (I don't know which).

How much can I actually restore using titanium? Is there anything better I could use?

    Any input greatly appreciated.

Edit> forgot to mention, I am (and will be in future) using a2sd+.

Whilst on that subject, how are people backing up their EXT3 partitions? I had an odd experience recently

I have had no trouble backing up apps & transferring to to the different custom roms.
    That is using titanium.
You will probably find on the 1.5 to 2.1 leap on the hero some of the apps were 1.5 only.

Possibly, although it was sense that kept force closing in the end.

Thanks though, I'll give it a try :)

its because titanium backed up the earlier version of rosie (rosie is sense btw), and tried to restore it on a rom which already had a newer version of rosie on it, causing all sorts of problems!

what i do with titanium is when i come to restore it, i go through the whole list of what it will restore, and basically only pick out the apps, anything system related i untick so it doesnt try to restore that.
