2.1: Loss of 3G after "factory wipe"

    As stated in the sticky above, 2.1 users are unable to factory wipe. I'd like to discuss options such as using SPrecovery to roll back to original stock settings and then "wiping"; obviously the risk of losing 3G is a primary concern of mine as due to unfortunate circumstances, I have no insurance and doubt my warranty is still active, I got the phone back in April.

    Anyone know anything about the specifics of this problem?

    The reason for this thread was to discuss that particular post, as it is locked, and with the wealth of devs floatin around here, I'm sure someone's got 2 cents to throw in the pot.

    anyone care to speculate?

    honestly, we have no idea. Give Trident a PM though, he usually has a lot of insight. You could also try OMJ.
