Product Launch Blog
Thanks for posting that. I am glad that they clarified about not everyone receiving it day one.... it is a roll out which means that the process will take time to reach everyone.
Trouble is they said that ages ago when it was by end of Q3
thing with a roll out is the could release Nordics on 31st and still not do UK till December, but still classed OK as it was stated "roll-out"
MakeCountdowns.com - LATEST ACCEPTED ROLL OUT OF 2.1 FOR Xperia X10 !
See what I mean? Brilliant, isn't it?
photo taken with my x10 of my friends x10 mini pro.
He says he's had it for about a week.
THE BASTUARD, hope i don't get blocked for swearing,
So I guess I'll get it with the first wave on sunday.
6000 you are as random as ever and you haven't been about much but I do like the cheese thing, I'm bored to death of 2.1 now.
still screwed in canada eh? haha.
Bored that much that you don't want the 2.1 update anymore lol
I think we are getting carried away with 2.1.
Besides being able to download some apps that I can't get on 1.6 and a better camera, I don't think it is going to be that earth shattering for me.
hence why i have NEVER understood all the hyping - why does everyone need it now
its not gonna bring that much extra to what we have
and there's some 2.1 handsets out on the market now that CANNOT do anything that i can't (except apps)
My concern is that there are fewer and fewer new apps which are backwards (ie. 1.6) compatible. Skype is a big one in question.
It's becoming more obvious and it's a bit of a pain.
<worry>And even then, how long will it be before we're left behind on 2.1 as others progress from 2.2 to 3.0? </worry>
might be a stupid question but, i bought my phone in Sweden but i wont be in a nordic country on sunday.
Will i still be able to update on the first "roll out" ?
Literally the end of October.
Do you know MrW, I don't think that it will make much difference to me, I'll probably just download the Eclair ADW and have it all set up the same as I currently do cos its just easier for this old gal to do it that way. I have really struggled to get to grips with the hysteria over the upgrade.
Ebobirthday killed my battery btw bummers!
Yes, You will still get it.
Sony Ericsson Canada has stated multiple times recently that we will be getting the update in November.
Sony Ericsson (SonyEricssonCA) on Twitter
Watch them release it Nov. 30. Cuz they wouldn't be wrong if they did that, it's still November haha.
And seriously, I already made a list of apps i really want/need with 2.1. So I think majority of people aren't looking for SE's so called "improvements" but more so the apps that require 2.1 hence all the angry people.
Wouldn't bug me at all if it were Nov. 30 -- I'm patient. It's only a month. But I'd anticipate we'll see it more mid-November.
We'll see though. It'll get here when it gets here. I haven't had any limitations on what I can do with my phone based on 1.6 other than angry birds, so *shrugs* rofl.
I keep my expectations low.. saves me from disappointment
i don't need any apps on 2.1 except
so bloody addicted and sick of carrying iPod Touch to play it
oh and battery life would be good so i can play it longer
just hope i can root the 2.1 soon so i can keep my UI and FONT as it looks so much better than the sony tat
Will we get skype??? I was waiting so long for this just to get skype???
don't tell me it won't be compatible???
Yeh, Skype will be available on the market when the update is out
might uninstall it then - see if i get 40 hours battery
There seems to be alot of rogue apps that people are using without knowing they are easting their battery.
So I may start a thread for X10 users to list rogue apps that eat at their battery
trouble is i get 20hrs out of it WITH that app installed, with heavy texting, tweeting, emailing and wi-fi
so i don't understand how it can kill 1 users battery and not another
hence why i will uninstall to see if it lasts any better over next 2 days
