I too am looking for a compact writeup on this process, Im new to Android and frantically trying to learn all the processes, I have been reading through about 5 different threads pulling a little info from each and its startign to become very confusing.

Im confused with the RDS lite / sbf file process

All of the pages referencing the sbf file have dead links, it seems to have been taken down ? what is the process for getting 604 2.1 back on the phone?

You need to flash the phone with the .sbf file. Do some searching in the rooted section and you'll find people to PM who have a working link. Just don't post asking for the link, you can get an infraction or banned.

Yes thanks all, Im going to try after work as well, quick question, I tried this process quickly during lunch but it failed during flashing. Then i remembered i do not have ABD drivers on my work comp, im assuming this is the issue.

Can anyone reassure me that the failure was due to not having the ABD drivers installed ?

I would say yes, you must have the correct drivers installed or process will fail.

I too did it this morning (back to 2.1). There were a few caveats that were not in any of the "how-to" blurbs I read. 1) After you down-flash to 2.1 you may get in a boot loop at the Eye. If so, drop the battery and do another factory reset/data wipe. The phone will boot successfully into 2.1. Also, I had to re-activate my service.

Read the directions carefully. Other than that it's pretty straight forward. You install the application and drivers and set your phone to bootloader mode and away you go.

The scary part I found was the boot loop. But all you do is pull your battery, plug it back in and go into recovery mode and reset to factory and you're good to go.

    There's a really good step-by-step hand-holding instruction write-up on alldroid.
