Root 2.3.20 failing?

2.3.20 not completing? anyone else rooted having an issue installing the ota?

Mine failed 4 times. I believe it was due to not having the preinstalled apps back in place.

I did successfully update while rooted, then had to re-root.

I also flashed the SBF. I never got the update.

i never deleted anything, just renamed heh, trying it after renaming everything
back to stock

That should work, but if it doesn't, SBFing is pretty simple.

that worked, had to uninstall boostrapper but that was it, installed and preserved root. Reinstalled clockworkmod and everything seems to be working no probs

Did you get the theme for the right ROM or did you forgot to mount system maybe?

how did you root it afterwards because i tried the one click method and it keeps telling me i am rooted but i cannot give any permissions?

I rooted using the same No PC method I used the first time.

So I kept trying and trying to update ota... Kept failing.... Does uninstalling nfs really not allow you to update?!!? Thats the only thing I've changed... Ugh, oh well, flashed the zip from wherever so i have 2.3.20 but no updated kernel/baseband....

Droid makes pwn... Do u have su installed...? If not, dl it from the market if u can, see if that helps... Might b ur prob

I got the 2.3 update but can't find it where do they upload it to?

IMO, do it via PC - worked like magic for me.
There is an update zip that is deodexed and you lose no data. On XDA I think.
Also you need to be deodexed for a theme.
