2.3.4 has been put on Samfirmware, any one getting it via KIES yet?
Just updated to 2.3.4 after seeing your post - Daily Briefing which was missing after 3.3.3 update is now available.
Updated on KIES? or Sam firmware?
Mine is an unbranded SGS, I am in the UK and no it is not available on Kies yet.
I have daily briefing on 2.3.3. albeit that it is a little different, but i prefer how it looks now. You need to update it via Samsung Apps.
From Sam firmware.
Lookwise not much differance, top strip is now black.
My understanding is the release on samfirmware.com is unofficial and therefor not likely to be on kies. This was the same for the early 2.3 versions. Give it time though and it will no doubt appear.
I updated mine yesterday to Ficeto_JVP_CWM3_v3 and Dark_Core_2.7.3_JVP and have to say its the best my phone has ever been. I have always suffered from lag and its the first time it appears to be lag free and fast.
hehe, this configuration worked fine for me until yesterday when my battery ran empty and phone turned off, as it should of course. Then I tried to turn it on and it staid on shiny "S" phase forever. Clearing Davlik Cache didn't help. reset to factory defaults helped only partially -- after a usual start up wizard phone complained about failing to start android.update and the usual desktop manager didn't appear.
Flashed JVP(2.3.4) thru ODIN yest.. Like the all black look.. somehow I feel that the battery has got better with this update, but too soon to tell.. so far 8 hrs since charge got about 70% battery left with calls, 1 1/2 hr of songs and few text's.. Background data off but GPRS/EDGE has been on... Is anyone getting good battery life out of this update??
i have had 2.3.4 on my phone now for 3 days and my battery life is amazing i cant fault it i think samsung have done us proud with this update i get 2 days out of my galaxy s now running 2.3.4 and i am loving it
I went to the samfirmware site however was unable to find the download link .. can someone post a direct link or direct me to the same.. many thanks
I am tempted to update, but i hate to lose all my settings and apps
If you are not a member, just register and login you will get the link. Navigate to samfirmware - TOOLBOX - FIRMWARE - FW ANDROID and select your model and you will get instructions and list of FW with link.
Tried it for a half an hour, works like a beast! Returned to 2.3.3-based Darky 10.1 RE nevertheless (I just like the way it looks lol)
Ok I have an US T-Mobile, model number SGH-T959 ECLAIR.UVJI6 I don
If your phone is rooted, use Titanium Backup (for apps and data) and MyBackup (for call logs, sms, etc.).
