    Hey guys,

Just got off the phone with a Verizon CSR near my place in Cincinnati, OH. I asked him about the availability of the extended battery and he said they wont ever keep them in stock, however, he could order it for me! I'm about to call back and order it. Who thinks I should be the first to take the plunge?!

I think that'd be a great idea. Let us know cost and how well it works :D

Also, you should ask if it is any larger than the OEM battery, thus requiring a different backing.

60$ and yes, it requires a new backing. Supposedly adds .1 to the depth.

I kill the battery life in my phone, please let us know how it holds up and if another backing is needed. I'd hate to buy a case only for it not to fit with a battery upgrade.

Do you think there's any way I can still get Verizon's black silicone case to still fit with the extra thickness?

yes, please do get it :)

post pics and a video after so we get an idea of how it looks... and keep us updated on the battery life... i'd love to be able to use LWP finally..without having to worry about my battery dying insanely fast.

I tried ordering twice, once yesterday and once today. both CSRs saw the battery (and back cover) in the system for $59 but it was showing 0 stock and so they couldn't order it. Maybe I'll try again.

This makes me really second guess if I should pay $20 for a case today that won't fit in a week or two when I get the battery upgrade.

Same experience I had. They initially told me over the phone that they could get it for me, too, then noticed that there were 0 in stock.

Exactly why I opted for the 1750 slim. Hopefully it will be enough.

    another +

i would pay $60 just to get a new back so i can get rid of the race car themed back they put on there.

New back and more battery life sounds like a win win for me. I just need to see picks of the new back first and proof of additional battery life.

The back on the OEM extended battery has the same race car theme.

It's a shame they don't pack batteries this size in all high end smartphones these days. I'm getting this biggie for sure, especially since it only adds .1".

Personally I love the slimness of this phone, and think that the extra thickness would kill it.

    In the 712
When they do show up in stock someone will have to ask if they will get newer cases for this newer battery to sell us. I have a shell/holster I bought yesterday that might be useless with the new battery and door...
