22D - Now Exchange won't sync

    Got 22D last night. Immediately after loading I get the following email notice!
    Activate Device Administrator
    Activating the device administrator will allow the application Email to perform the following operations:
    Erase all data:
    Perform a factory reset , deleting all of your data without and confirmation.
    Limit password:
    Restrict the types of passwords you are allowed to use.
    Watch login attempts:
    Monitor failed attempts to login to the device, to perform some action
    Force Lock:
    Control when device locks, requiring you to re-enter it

    This is enabled because you have a email setup on your phone that is through a MS Exchange server. In order for you to have this setup on your phone you have to allow this or exchange will not allow your phone to sync and get/send email on that account. The new update FRG22B enabled these functions finnaly so Android is more available to the corporate world before the android os was not activesync compliant.

    If you do allow this .. you will have to setup either a PIN or Password on the phone you cannot setup the pattern lock. Also ANYTIME your screen goes off you will have to put in the PIN/Pass to access the phone. You cannot turn this off unless you remove the exchange account from your phone.

    The only way you can have the account on your phone and NOT have to do this is if you can somehow convince your IT exchange admin that your phone doesnt need to be secured per thier requirements (as an exchange admin myself.. good luck ;) )
