Hi there, just bought a 2nd SF for my wife ( 1st was for daughter 6 months ago).

Just wondering what, if anything's changed since I got the courage to put Swedish Spring on the first one?

Is this still the best to use? Anything different I need to be aware off?

Thanks for any advice - have never had the courage to root my desire

Oh, 1 other question, what back ups should i be doing before starting? Don't remember doing that before, unless it was a standard part covered in the guide

Hi. CyanogenMod 7 is great but it is more battery hungry. I get barely a days use out of my OSF. That's with turning 3G off when not in use, a moderate amount of browsing forums, a call or two and a bit of gaming. I've heard Ginger Stir Fry has better battery life if you want 2.3 but I've not tried it.

Upgrading from Gen 1 to Gen 2 actually turned out to be easier than rooting and flashing Swedish Spring (the first ROM i tried on my OSF). There is a TPT method which updates you to Gen 2 and installs CM7. I followed the guide here:

    Gen1 to Gen2 TPT upgrade - Android @ MoDaCo
