TAKE off the WEATHER WIDGET on the home page !!!

Everyone should try this who's unhappy with battery life.
After doing this now I get a day and a half of battery use ( w/moderate use)
I did the same for my wife. and and she was amazed herself.

I apologize if this has been mentioned previously.

If you keep 3G service off when you're not using it almost works the same as this. The weather widget doesnt update unless it has a Net connection.
Also you can set the weather widget to update when you want. Some of us don't need it to update every hour.

Is there a way to actually turn off the weather widget instead of just not having it update frequently?

You can't do that unless you're rooted can you?

Just put it in the trash like any other widget/app.

I think they mean remove it from the home screen and not the system it self.

dont know if this would be a fix or not. i dont even have weather widget and its hard for my phone to even last from 8-5 under a light moderate use.

I found if I turn my phone off and only turn it on to make phone calls my battery lasts 5 days ... OR I can actually use my phone with the extended battery and hope it lasts 6-8 hours. I shouldnt have to turn stuff off to last a day in standby, but oh well.

I really hate when people say things like "turn off X and Y, and you will have soooo much better battery life". No kidding, so if I turn off everything that my phone does and makes it so great, then it will last longer?

Wow thanks, how about I just get a crappier phone that doesn't have those options, then I won't have to turn anything off!!

Exactly. People need to just go buy an extended battery. Based on how much and how heavy you use your phone decide between the 1750, 2150 and 3500 mah extended battery. They are all pretty much around the same price.

So taking off one widget that updates every hour is going to magically double your battery life?

    idk about that.

it's all preference people. dont hate on the OP for giving his suggestion. you can agree or disagree, but who cares? do you. AND personally I'd just change the refresh time to one day and refresh manually, virtually the same thing as the OP stated.
