Help 3.1 update and battery life

Has anyone else felt like the battery life decreased some after the 3.1 update?

I remember getting about 1-1.5 days of on time and about 8hrs of screen on time prior to the update...

now it seems like I only get about 4-5hrs of screen on time....

wondering if its the update or an app I recently loaded...

Yup, I'm noticing the same thing. Check the battery status in your settings. Mine's showing that the device isn't sleeping at all...even while I am. I've been poking around to see what might be causing tthis, but haven't installed anything new or anything like that, so I don't have a suspect yet. We'll see if a few hours of monitoring with SystemPanel turns up anything...

Btw I'm on a Wi-Fi xoom, yet I see an internal foreground process called Mobile Data. The actual name of the process is com.android.phone. interesting. I wonder if that was there on 3.0? Sounds like a potential culprit...

I tried killing the com.android.phone process just to see what'd happen, but it just restarted shortly after.

SystemPanels monitoring is showing the CPU usage hovering around 30-50 percent, even while the xoom is just sitting idle on the table.

Ya know, this is all strikingly similar to what was going on with my evo a couple weeks ago. The battery performance just plummeted seemingly for no reason. The CPU at that time was idling fairly high. Then as strangely as it began, it stopped. CPU went back to hovering at a much lower level, and battery life returned to normal.

I have not changed my usage of my Xoom in any way, and ever since the 3.1 upgrade, my battery life has decreased by 50%. I called Verizon and they connected me with Motorola. Both companies said that there is no way to revert back to previous version of software....that's aggrevating. They claim not to know anything about decreased battery life. Their only answer was to try a factory Wipe....No Thanks. Now I'm stuck waiting until they admit that there is a problem, and it gets fixed. If anyone figures out a work around, Please post it.

Yea...been getting 2 hrs less battery life since update and not have installed any new apps.

Same here. I also noticed that the browser response is slower, the whole tablet is slower sometimes. Yesterday itcame to halt, no response at all. Not even the power switch at the back. After few minutes it rebooted by itself.
Xoom wifi.

I haven't noticed a decline myself. It's been 2d 10h 57m 17s on battery, of which wifi has been on 1d 18h 40m 14s. I haven't used it much since the screen has only been on for 2h 41m 12s, but still my idle time has been pretty good. My Total CPU usage reads 1h 25m 33s. Hmm.
