I just discovered this today when I was just browsing through YouTube videos. It's so AWESOME! I was honestly freaking out when "mastered" it. The technique is to cross your eyes so that you produce a 3rd image right in between two identical images. It takes some practice but once you have it down... the results are worth it!

Here's a great tutorial to help you with focusing on the 3rd image. Essentially... try to bring the two dots together using the cross-eyed technique and let your brain try to focus on it and then look a little further up at the rotating stuff while still keeping focus on the 3rd image. WATCH IN HIGHEST QUALITY AND FULL SCREEN. Also watch at a comfortable distance (too close and it's much harder for your eyes to focus) without any side distractions.

Note: It may appear blurry to you at first, but just keep trying to focus on it. Your brain is trying to do something that it never does. lol Some people get it instantly while others struggle at it.

Here are some other cool 3D videos to watch:

It is! After doing it for like 30 minutes, it's really easy for me to achieve the 3D effect now. Best discovery for today :)

Took me about 5 seconds to get, then about 30 seconds later my eyes uncrossed themselves and I had to struggle to get it back. But now I have it mastered.

You did it for 30 minutes? Wholy, is there a certain time limit you should follow when doing this? I know the old wives tale 'hold em like that too long and they'll stay that wav' isn't true, but can doing it for too long be detrimental to your eye muscles (bigbadwullf, you have any 'in-sight' about this issue?)?

Remember those old pictures that were all the rage like 10 or 15 years ago that made no sense when you just looked right at it, but when you looked beyond the picture all of a sudden a 3D image would appear? I had those mastered, but then after a while I would start having problems focusing on normal things. It was like my eyes got used to "looking past" the focal point, and it became a struggle to focus normally.

I quit looking at those pictures after that. I was afraid I was messing up my eye muscles or something.

Oh well I definitely stop if my eyes start to ache. I highly doubt that there will be issues unless your eyes somehow want to stay cross-eyed. lol

Yup. The technique goes way back to the Holmes Stereocard days.
Great old low tech with a modern twist.

I was having trouble on the first video, and just as I got it, about a second later the video ended! Tried to keep my eyes crossed and use the mouse to scoot back tot he middle of the video, that was tricky! Pretty cool once you get it, though!
