Help 3G not working

Hi guys

Sorry if this has been posted before or very similar, however i have tried numerous solutions and not a single one has worked =(

Bascially im going on holiday in a few weeks and wanted to see if i could turn my 3g off. I did, a little too well because now it won't turn back on.

How i turned it off:
I dialed *#*#4636#*#*
and clicked on 'disable data connnections' (or something similar)

and my 3g turned off like i wanted.

However i want to turn it back on now and i can't.

Ive tried:

dialing: *#*#4636#*#* etc and clicked enable data connections

waited a bit, turned phone on and off.... nothing!

ive also updated the firmware 2.2.1

also tried the suggestion in the faq thread....still hasnt worked.

also did a factory reset of my phone....and still nothing!

and im on orange, so on access point names orange uk internet is ticked.

Pretty much scoured the internet for solutions. And im hoping one of you guys can help.

The only thing I can suggest is to goto Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks and make sure Use packet data is ticked. Network mode is set to GSM/WCDMA ( auto mode ).
