Anyone have an idea when Google's gonna start rolling out 4.0.3 to the Verizon GNex?
I think I might has seen sometime at the end of this month.
Anyone else hearing this as well? I saw a thread of people saying they were expecting it mid-January but that was from when the phone first came out and may not be entirely accurate. Does the end of the month seem like a good guess?
Is there a post explaining what will be in the update?
black_man_x said it was being finished last week, so i would assume soon
I thought I've read it will be 4.1 instead.
I don't care what they call it as long as it fixes the signal issues.....and gets here soon.
I do know that it is going to have two new radio updates to address the signal issue. Among other bug fixes i'm sure.
If you don't mind OP i am going to move this to the Verizon specific Galaxy Nexus Forum.
how do you know? is there a link you can show us?
(not calling you out or anything, just curious )
No problem. Figured GSM users might be interested as well is all but I'm rockin a VZW GNex myself so its ok with me
Yeah, this update needs to come ASAP. I need the phone to WORK as a phone. Wait, is this going to become the next great speculation thread like the general release thread was? LOL, hopefully we won't have to wait as long!!!
I didn't want it to be!! This is mainly for people who have real basis of their comments like one of the first few posters did.
Don't miss understand me. I want the facts too...it seems funny to me that NO ONE has any info on the release?
Which is why I asked. It seems too quiet. We heard it was being postponed, and that was the end of it.
My guess is their still fighting over wallet. Google says, "This is part of our nexus Ice Cream Sandwich build!!" Verizon says, "We don't want it on phones that are on our network. The Galaxy Nexus is already way more phone than our customers deserve - much more than they should be able to get in a single device. Plus, someday, we might have a competing service that uses your special NFC chip instead. Muahahahaha!!"
Pure speculation, of course.
I doubt its wallet since most people who really want it get it anyway

Thats the last i heatd. Read the resolution parts for timeline of updates.
"A fix for this issue is under review and will be included in the first post launch maintenance release software for this device. The tentative release date is middle to late January 2012."

The VZW and GSM G Nex's aren't on the same upgrade timeline. They also don't suffer from the same issues that is why i wanted to move this. Well that and the fact that you specifically asked a Verizon G Nex question lol For instance the GSM version has no signal issues. Here is an article talking about the radios that will be in the next update.
BTW the radios have leaked out several weeks ago. However i'm sure that by the time the OTA goes live the radios will have been even more updated. Read towards the bottom of the article
AnandTech - Investigating the Galaxy Nexus LTE Signal Issue
I know there have been leaks. Like I said, I'm technically running 4.0.3 now but I'd rather have real 4.0.3 at the core of my device
And yes, I know GSM and LTE have different time lines they only recently received the 4.0.2 update so we should be getting this first as well
same here. I'll actually go back to a stock set up once the update is live. To see how stock works.
Well I have been with VZW for a long time and not once have they ever been in a hurry to put out a software release. Ever Never. Now I know this is a different animal for them as it is the 1st release of ICS and and that in itself should screw them up enought to delay it by at least 2 months. I hope Google overides them and pushes it but I think VZW will have the last say and if that is the case unless someone in the presidents cabinet needs the update now we will be waiting. I have learned to never expect anything from VZW especially software updates.
