me...& so far, don't like it.

    crisper, yes. maybe even faster?

but can anyone tell me how to rid of seeing my missed calls on the lock screen? seems easy enough. i've yet to be able to disable this "feature"

Nope. It's built right in. I prefer 4.1.2 notifications over 4.3. The new one just looks ugly and in your face. The older circular ones were nicer and more clean looking.

Are you putting it under light, moderate or heavy use? Can you post screen shots of battery uptime and screen time?

The odd thing is when I do my regular light use of the device, battery life is on par to what 4.1.2 was like. I can't tell the difference. However, when I start tasking the device and putting it under moderate to heavy use, I see the battery drain significantly. It's not lasting as it should under these conditions.

I am assuming Samsung did tweaks to the chipset to drive performance and sacrificing a bit of battery life to achieve it.

Okay, there's something I actually found I liked with the new Samsung keyboard. I can 'float' it like my Note 10.1. Love it and easier to swipe the keys one handed since it's a little more condensed, smaller and doesn't take up a good portion of the screen. It can also be maneuvered around the screen.

    Glos.
Ah I get you. Yeah that sounds annoying, I regularly use the camera shortcut from the lockscreen if I want to take a picture of something quickly.

I got the update, I have been searching the forum for an hour trying to find out how to uninstall it.
I cant do a google search or text anyone, it wont let me type a lot of words or names - auto correct disallows them and changes them to something else.
I want to uninstall this update but don't know how.
Note 2 on Telus. Help will be appreciated.
    Mega.

    Update*
I read about doing a backup and a wipe. wont the backup just save it the way it is?

No. The backup will essentially backup only apps, data and/or preferences. It will not backup the firmware/ROM. Doing a hard wipe back to factory reset will not revert the device back to the previous firmware version.

If you desperately want to revert back to 4.1.2, you will need the Telus 4.1.2 ROM and ODIN. You will also need to do a proper backup as flashing through ODIN and reverting to a previous version will more than likely require a hard wipe back to factory defaults.

To find the ROM, simply go to sammobile.com. Go to the firmware section and type in "i317m" (without the quotes) in the device search box. Find the 4.1.2 Telus ROM and download it.

Now swing over to XDA and look for ODIN as well as a how-to. ODIN will be required to flash the ROM on to the device. However, I am unsure if this will trip the flash counter and void warranty. I do not think so since an official ROM will be flashed. But, again, I am unsure about that.

What's happening with the update. Looks like nobody in Europe has received it yet. Can anyone prove me wrong? The rollout started over 3 weeks ago.

The rest of the world are being used as guinea pigs to iron out the instabilities in 4.3 and then bring the finished article back to Europe, with Note 3 features, before xmas《wipes eyes, wakes up》wow, what a dream!

Just checked via kies and OTA and still nothing. Can't be long then as we are on the same network. Have you updated? How is it if so?

Yeah, had to resort to third party apps to get the functionality back.

I ended up using Go Locker for the lock screen. Its not 100% perfect but its a lot better than the butt arse ugly stock one.

    Taken from Sammobile
"Last night our insider surprised us with two new firmwares for the Galaxy S III (GT-I9300) and Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) – I9300XXUGMK6 and N7100XXUEMK9. Galaxy S III’s firmware is actually officially available by Samsung itself but it’s only available via OTA, so users are unable to manually update their device via Samsung KIES or by using Odin. However, Galaxy Note II’s firmware is fresh out of Samsung’s test labs, for now it’s labeled as a test firmware but Samsung might actually make it official if they feel it’s stable enough.SamMobile’s advice is to wait until Samsung officially releases the firmware and update your device via OTA or via Samsung KIES"
This was posted today, to me this looks like the update isn't even ready for us yet in Europe, looks like the carriers overseas have been given it to pass on to their customers after adding their usual stuff.
The post goes on to say you can download via Odin etc etc..

thanks. i'll have to take a look @ go locker.

not sure its 4.3 related, but today i recv'd a notification for "security policy updates," it says/looks like its samsung specific. however, in a year of owing the phone i've never recv'd one of these updates.

am skeptical, am i safe to allow the update?

This is 4.3 related. In this update, if you go into the security settings, you will see a heading for Security update service. Auto update and via Wi-Fi are checked by default.

Miss_Vickie.... Like Neo said, you can go into your settings under "application manager", find the specific app you don't want to see anymore, such as the HP Print one & choose "disable". That will make the app disappear from your phone & your updates. It's still on your phone, just swept under the rug so to speak.

A big thank you to all the bleeding edge early adopters. I just received my update notice from Sprint and am understandably hesitant about it. So should I make the leap? I am standing on the ledge and wondering if the crowd is yelling "jump!"

Not the answer you're looking for... but it's entirely up to you.

The really big (and positive thing) about this update is the apps to SD function.

Otherwise, it's not really a big improvement. It feels like Samsung decided to neuter the Note 2 instead. It removed features from 4.1.2 and didn't bother with adding the Note 3's air command (which some users were wanting).

Also tweaked performance at the expense of battery life. Battery life is much worse under moderate to heavy use. Though battery life is on par with 4.1.2 when in light use to no use. The icons are butt ugly (did you see the contact icons I posted?) as well as the notification. Also light coloured themes strain eyes when in dark places.

Battery life is now a concern for me. Unfortunately it used to last the day without a worry. But now I find myself paying closer attention and limiting use of the device if drain becomes apparent.

Edit: I am also starting to experience lag. More so than 4.1.2. The update was supposed to have better RAM utilization which I think translates to moor RAM usage. I am starting to soft rest my device more often as well as clearing recent apps.
