okay, so this may be weird, but it seems like maps should be able to do this. my brother in law and my niece were in the chicago area today (i'm in la) and they were going to go see a house her mom lived in when we were kids.

the addresses are kind of weird in the chicago burbs, so all i wanted to do was give him the gps coordinates, so he could plug them into his gps device.

well, i didn't see any way of getting those from google maps.

is there a plugin or something i'm missing, or is this not possible at all?

again, it wasn't MY position, but one i knew of by address.

I think it isn't possible with the app of Google Maps (maybe with Maps on PC).
So you've to use another map app for this.
Most of the GPS apps with online/offline maps are able to do this :)

The app 'Maps With Me' uses offline maps. I search an address or tap on a location on its map and the coordinates will pop up, for saving or sharing e.g. via email.

    Update:
Have a look at 'GPS Location', free in Play Store, uses the map of Maps und does exactly what you want :)
Put the address in the search field and the pin will show you the location on the map of Maps with coordinates.
Best of it: When you touch and move the map off center the pin will remain on center and will show you its changed coordinates.
