4EXT is fully compatible with the EVO V 4g. You can install it with S-OFF or S-ON. Just download it from the app store and download the latest version for the EVO 3D CDMA

Edit: You need to be rooted to install it

I just flashed it this afternoon, very simple it will walk you through the whole process. Make sure to install busybox first, itll prompt you if you forget.

Way easier (and nicer looking lol) than CWM.

I'm probably gonna feel like a dope after someone answers this, but how do you just simply reboot into recovery from 4EXT? What I've been doing is going into the wipe menu, unchecking everything, and clicking proceed. Now that works, but it seems like I'm overlooking a simple "Reboot to recovery" option or something.

I use Quick Boot, too. Just so I can have a short cut in a folder to reboot into the recovery. It's an app in Google Play.

Can we use nandroid backups with 4EXT? If not, is the method 4EXT uses just as good?

4EXT stores backups in the same format that CWM does. But it can make it's own backups, yes.
