Its been two months with my new service from Sprint. Got the Samsung Epic 4G. Well, I've been downloading 720p/1080p music video from you tube. Like all day long over 24 hours. Well today its very evident that SPRINT has killed my data connection period. 4G doesn't even connect and 3G doesn't work. I was able to connect to 4G once and download a music video. Immediatly after the download finish, 4G disconnected for good. Its like Sprint has a daily or monthly limit? I pay for unlimited data and that WTF I want !

I forgot to mention. When I go to update firmware or prl. 4G lights up,connects with full bars. Checks for updates says firmware is up to date. The it kills 4G and it disconnects! This makes it obvious what SPRINT is doing.

Have you tried to reset your phone? Checked all your settings and that?

I've never heard of or experienced that, ever... and I use a lot of data. Sounds like your phone has an issue or there is tower maintenance going on in your area.

Maybe a tower I guess. It started last night at home. Data just quit. Then I drove to work, still no data. It came back about 2 hours ago. I'm going to download every music video on youtube! If Sprint doesn't like it then they can give me my money back.

3G might be throttled, but 4G is completely unlimited. They may have gotten you on a "unlimited use does not mean unreasonable use" clause, though.

Have you tried taking the device to the store for them to check it? Have you tried calling customer service to find out if there is an issue there? Those would be my first two options.

I looked into it further. There is a 5 GB soft cap, but the reason why everyone hasn't been throttled is because Sprint chooses who to enforce it on. From the looks of it, you are a prime candidate for throttling. This should only apply to 3G, though. 4G should be completely unlimited UNLESS you are tethering without paying for the Hotspot feature. They actually have the right to terminate your service completely and stick you with an ETF charge if you do that.

While Sprint doesn't throttle 4G data, I don't know if Clear does.
