    hi guys,

i just updated my samsung fascinate android OS this morning, because the message came up telling me to update. before the update, everything worked fine. after the update, the phone is unusable. the home screen icons are different, and it seems to vibrate randomly - following by messages asking to force close services dealing with google. i can barely even get to access my contacts to make sure they were all still there (they are).

how would i go about fixing this? downgrading back to the old version OS? btw, the version i just updated to seems to have 2 new options on the notification bar on top (gps, bluetooth, wifi, and now mobile data and auto rotation)

    thanks,

    matt

I have 3 Fascinates. All 3 acted strange in various ways after the upgrade to 2.2.

A 'factory reset' seems to have fixed all 3.

NOTE: All apps and settings will be deleted, so back stuff up first !!
If all your stuff is backed up to google, contacts, calendar, apps, etc.
they will get reinstalled post reset.

Menu..Settings...Privacy...Check Back up my data and auto restore.
make sure you contacts and calendar are 'syncing' to google OR
export your contacts to SD card to re import after reset.

It 'could' also be one of the current apps you have installed causing
    the problems as well.

I went with factory reset. Then resynced my calendar and contacts.
Then after a day and I know phones were OK, I then reinstalled apps a couple at a time on each phone.

When I updated my phone, it never completely booted up after that. It's vibrating continuously and wont go to the home sreen. IDK what to do.

If it's under warranty, you can take it back.

Or if you want to fix it yourself, just Odin back to stock (directions in the root forum).
