Sears is selling the Droid for $149, so I went to Best Buy and asks for a $50 credit, and no question asked, they handed me $50ish cash. =)
You guys should do the same if you got yours at BestBuy.

bring your Droid receipt, so they can scan it into their system for a price adjustment. and of course print out that sears wireless price to show them.

I'm surprised they are matching Sears Wireless since it's not really a local store... for that matter you should try getting them to match wirefly then :)

So if I want to get the droid at Best Buy- can I just print the Sears page (linked to in gthrift's post) and take it to BB and they will match the price? That would be handy- BB is a block from my house.

they won't honor wirefly, because Sears is a well known brick & mortar business.

Will printing that page off the site work or does it have to be local? I got them to price match walmart earlier today, but that was only $12. That also says with a new wireless account. Mine is not a "new account" it was an upgrade. Will that make a difference?

Unfortunately I can't make it out to best buy tonight, but my friend and I will try tomorrow morning. I'll post our experience. Mine was a new every two update, but my friend was a new account.

    We'll see!

Has anyone got it to work that used an upgrade instead of a new activation?

So, does this work for existing accounts? Or do you have to have a new account? I'd love to get a pair for my wife and I, but I have an existing family share plan right now.

yeah, but my Best Buy stores must be jerks. They actually pick up the phone and call the store that I'm asking them to match to see if they have it in-stock. If not they do not match... that was on stereos, tvs, and computers I've done (all where in-stock though haha). So, I'm surprised they are doing it for Sears since they do not sell wireless in the store at all. It's very cool and I think they should match internet stores to a degree also.

Just to let everyone know, I got this price matched at the new activation price instead of the upgrade price even though I did an uprade. They would only give it to me on a gift card though.

So, just to be clear, if I bring my two phones in, BB will give me a pair of Droids for a price-matched cost of $150 each, provided I renew for 2 years?

I bought my droid last saurday at best buy. I've been a VZW customer for over 6 years with two lines.

I added a $9.99 line to get my droid for $199.

I just walked in, handed the BB CS girl the searswireless.com add and my receipt from last week. 90 seconds later $53 and change back on my Visa.

    Painless and quick! Thanks OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just be aware that Best Buy's price matching terms specifically exclude this situation. So while some people are getting lucky, you certainly can't count on it.

Can you be more specific? I plan on trying this tomorrow, and if it works out, I will definitely buy a $99 product there that sells for $79 + shipping online :)

Certainly. The Best Buy page is HERE. The relevant part is:

Of course enforcement of the policy is totally up to the store, so its probably worth a shot. I know my local store is really a stickler. They do a map search for the closest retailer of the chain they are price matching, call them and check their inventory. Only then will they honor the price match. It sounds like some of the people up top are in a more laid back area.
