$50 giftcard for peordering?

ive read that if you preorder at best buy you get a $50 dollar giftcard, is this true and if so is it still going on?

When you preorder, you pay $50 and they give a $50 gc that you can use for the phone when it comes out or anything else in the store. You don't get a "free" $50 gc.

to me that sounds like its free.

You're paying $50 to get a $50 gc and to reserve a spot for the phone. You don't get $50 credit for the phone unless you use the gc. You're basically buying a $50 gc when you preorder.

oh ok i thought you would put 50 towards the phone and they would give you 50 in giftcard. so essentially you would be paying 200 instead of 250 if u used the giftcard towards the phone.

the only thing you are getting for free is the buyback program... since its a new program they are giving it away for the month of february for people to try out... so you are getting a 60 dollar service for free... and when you get a new phone in 2 years it will be worth 129 dollars estimated...
