Hello my fellow first day Nexicans, our New Every Two date is fast approaching, and I was wondering what YOU planned on buying. Being sucked into the Moto X hype? Maybe the Droid Ultra/Maxx/Mini is more your style? Or perhaps the Galaxy S4 is more to your liking? Let us know and why!

Personally, I voted for the Droid Ultra. The Moto X is nothing more than a glorified Droid Mini. Right now the Maxx is a bit above my budget (but I may be able to pull it off before 8/20). While I really love the S4, the new processor tech on the Ultra with the "always on" listening feature has me captivated.

So, I voted Ultra, with a caveat that I may upgrade to a Maxx if the funding is there.

Should add the HTC One to that list, I have a feeling some are anxious for that. I got tired of Verizon's corporate crap and left them for T-Mobile and the Nexus 4.

I voted 'Other' as I will most likely make the switch to T-mobile and pick up another device. The Moto X is nice, but Motorola eluded to the fact that this is just the start and more devices are expected later this year. Then there's the next Nexus phone to ponder about.

I thought about adding the HTC One and the LG G2.

I'm really interested in the upcoming Galaxy Note 3. Besides the larger screen (at least 5.7 inches or so) I like the fact that it should have a removable battery, meaning I can add a larger one if necessary. It should also have a microSD slot, and maybe even 3 GB of RAM

I'm still waiting for a true Nexus. Google Edition doesn't count.

Just went to AT&T today to get some info. I'm thinking of dropping vzw since they have pretty much taken every reason away to stay with them. Ideally I'd like to go GSM so I can bring the phone of my choice. Leaning toward waiting for the Nexus 5, whenever that may be.

If I stick with vzw, idk it'll probably be a phone that's not yet on the radar. I doubt I'll upgrade in August. End of contract is December and it's too tempting to get out from under Big Red. I at least want to taste the option directly when I can leave without financial penalty. And maybe they'll offer something better than 2GB of data and keep me onboard, who knows. Things change. There's all kinds of talk about morphing plans lately.

Might pick up the Moto X, although if the Verizon-capable Nexus 5 comes out on Verizon I'll jump on it and sell the X. If it doesn't come out and the G2 turns out hopelessly locked down, I'll keep the X :)

If money was not an object and I had plenty of it, I would more than likely have to decide between the Moto X and the Oppo Find5. I had no idea until recently that Oppo had been making phones (their Blue Ray players are top of the line, and their customer service is phenomenal).

I bought a used S3 a month ago to get me to the end of our contract. At that point, we'll mull over leaving Verizon. It'll a hard if not impossible sell to the wife, but I'll give it my best shot. :)
But, if I'd have to pick my top 3: Nexus 5, LG G2, or Note 3.

I really like the HTC One, but I'm not confident it will have the dev support on VZW. Combine this with the fact that it doesn't have virtual buttons (I'm not doing fixed buttons again), and I'll have to pass on it.

I'm planning to wait for VZW battery/reception reviews involving the Moto X, before purchasing. I figure by then, the customization options will open up and I'll also get to see what the dev support looks like (or if any better phones get mentioned). I highly doubt a Nexus 5 will land on VZW, so for now, this is the phone I intend to purchase.

For me it was either the HTC One or the GS4. I had the HTC hero on Sprint before my Galaxy Nexus and the build quality was crap. The volume rocker broke, the case cracked. I've had zero issues with this Samsung phone even after letting my 1 year old use it as a hammer. So I voted for GS4.

this opinion piece makes me want a moto-x
if you wait for a new motorola phone or the next nexus, when they are released you will hear about other new phones coming out *soon* and will want to wait more. if the phone is not coming out within 2 weeks, just get what is already out there.
