A better Google Talk app than Google Talk?

I'm trying to get my Blackberry friends to use Google Talk with me but I have to say the Talk app on Android sucks. There is zero customization with Google Talk for Android in terms of how it looks and acts and I'm just wondering if there is any viable alternative for using Google Talk. I've seen the likes of Meebo and Trillian but those seem to get mixed reviews. Was really hoping there was another Google Talk-focused app out there that was more customizable.

google talk is the best for me because its one thing: simple. Also, it support continuous chats with iGoogle - so when you say something on your phone and login to igoogle (google.com/ig) you will see what you and your chat buddy said, great for on the go.

But if you must have customization, I highly recommend Beejive - I tried it a little on the Android but it was my chat app of choice on the iPhone.

Expensive, yes, but if you want the magna cum laude of chat apps, thats the one

Blackberry announced they where going to bring bbm to android so you may have that option with your blackberry friends when/if it gets released.

I really can't wait to try this... BBM rocks, but BB's are just too "clunky" for me to go back to them (The hardware, not the OS, the OS is rock solid).
