What is a good case for the captivate that isn't expensive. I'm looking at gel cases and hard cases.

Just got this one yesterday. Seems pretty good and for the price, it's definitely worth it.

I got the Bodyglove case from Best Buy and I'm a big fan of it. It's a pretty durable, flexible plastic, I'd say it's a great middleground between a silicone cover and a hard case. I'd love if they had something like the Speck Candyshell I had for my iPhone but this one seems like it accomplishes the same feat without the dust attracting silicone.

got the body glove from att, works well as a cover, went to ebay and got a case and power supplies and the case fits with the glove on.

I just ordered a silicon case from Amazon for a penny plus $2.98 shipping since I had some store credit there. It's a fairly generic-looking silicon case, but since the other colors like it were over a dollar, I figured they were having a hard time unloading the purple ones. A girl's gotta catch a break when she can.

I'm really waiting for a soft-hard hybrid case for impact absorption and prevention of dents in the corners. I too would love the Speck Candyshell for this phone, but I can't imagine putting that case on, with the way the Captivate is shaped. I could see something like the Switcheasy Rebel, with a rigid spine that snaps over the softer, form-fitted case. The Amzer looks most promising, with what looks to be raised corners, but I'll probably stick with what I just bought until I see something that catches my eye.

I picked up my Body Glove case today from Best Buy and I love it. Great feel to it and I can hardly notice it is there. It looks pretty nice too - very happy. Just wish Otterbox would get with it make something decent. I have no clue what other companies offer decent protection, a definite must for me with this phone.

Goodness, I hope not. Silicon is what they make chips out of. Silicone is the rubbery stuff. ;)

Whoops, lol  That chunk of silicon would definitely protect whatever gets sealed inside it, but nobody would ever see it again. Now that'd be a hands-free device!

Anyone know of a clear case for the Captivate? I had one on my old iPhone 3GS before I gladly jumped that ship. It was made by griffin. The captivate is too good looking in my opinion to cover it up. I do love the feel of the brushed aluminum too...I almost want to go commando with my phone.

I ordered this case on Tuesday, it arrived today :)

This hard case has a nice 'satin' feel to it. It looks ok, but not great from up close. It is much lighter in color than the one pictured. The painted carbon fiber stands up to my fingernail, we'll see how it does over time.

The cases thickness does make it easier to hit that lock button, I was getting pretty frustrated with it before the case.

Overall it's a sturdy case that will do the job, just not the best looking thing. Well worth the $7.95 including shipping.

I've also got the bodyglove case that AT&T sells. Love it.
