Went to VZ today and was 100% impressed with the Revo. A couple of aprehensions if you could help me out. I can take the Bing search if I have to but I need google email, google maps, and the voice search and voice directed navigation. Do these work with this phone?

    Thanks,

    Rich

Yes, everything Google works, it's just not included. I rooted and used Titanium Backup to freeze all the Bing stuff. The only thing that irritates me is that I haven't found a way to assign Google search to the search button (or voice search for long press). Wave Launcher has really helped ease the transition.

I haven't rooted, I just downloaded all the Google apps I wanted and removed the shortcuts/widgets for the Bing ones I didn't. Easy.

(I use Go Launcher EX and several other of the great GO apps.)

Same. I don't ever use the Search button so that isn't a big deal for me. I put the Google Search widget on main Home Screen and just search from that.

So you can use google search in the same way, Ie. "Navigate to Starbucks" and it will pop up navigation and do the work just like my DX?

Gotta tell you this was the first new phone I have been impressed with since the X. This is a fassssssst phone.

Yep, Google search/maps/voice/etc are the exact same apps that you were using before, you just have to install them from the Market.
