So, being a bit of a Trekkie myself, you guys may be able to appreciate this not only for the theme, but because of that fact it's actually quite functional. So I found this:
Tricorder v4.3 Application for Android | Tools

It's a fully functional Tricorder with accelerometer, magnetic, audio, GPS, cellular, compass, and even solar activity readings. I LOVE this app, it's not only super geeky and great to show off to friends, but it actually has some interesting functionalities. I'd say definitely give this one a shot pronto.

While I was never much of a fan of Star Trek (I did find the 60's one pretty funny though), in the 2 minutes I've spent playing around with this program, it's pretty cool. However, my girlfriend isn't too keen on me getting another program that draws my attention away from her :D

lol, I understand how that is, though my gf is the whole package, looks and a nerd. That being besides the point, I never really like the original much, I like TNG much more, if you haven't watched it, watch it now, it is still a great series and stood the test of time very well. No one will ever compare to Picard. All series after TNG sucked, but TNG was the best.
  4. I'm embarrassed to say this is one of the reasons I can't wait for my Hero to be upgraded to 2.1 next year.

Great app, very cool. And ALL STAR TREKS are great, Origional, TNG, Voyager, Enterprise. The Latest Movie was incredible. I purpusly left out Deep Space Nine cause that really SUCKED!

Next Generation was the best Star Trek ever, this app sounds great if I can just figure out how to install it on my Moment....

Scanned the barcode for it but I can't find it. Also did a manual search of market and still no joy?

edit: found the package and tried to install it, but it says it doesn't work on the phone (HTC Hero)

I couldn't find it in the app store...I even scanned the barcode and it did not show up. I don't think it will work with 1.5 (I have the hero).

It runs fine on my Hero. :)

    from the website:

"Runs on Android 1.6 and later. (People with 1.5 phones can continue to use version 3.10, available in the Downloads section.)"

My Sprint Hero is still running 1.5. Where is that 2.1 they promised?

Coming SOMETIME the first HALF of this year... you prolly got a 5 month wait ;-)

You are probably right. Sometimes, I think it won't even be upgraded until the end of the year.

3.1 works fine on my Moment now, only problem is the EMS button gives me a fatal error :-/ I'm sure it's fixed in later versions that I can't get til OS update, but this is cool anyway.
