Can we try with the bigger peek cards though? Just to see what that would look like. Also, my Instagram notifications stopped working for some reason. Not sure of it's the app or the watch face. Instagram notifications used to always show up on the watch without a problem. Also, the digital clock when not in ambient mode could be a little bigger. But as far as that, I don't think any more tweaks are necessary!
I'm going to be working on another project tonight...so live with it for a day and let me know if you need me to make any more changes.
You got it!
Alright...had to stop work on my project...Adobe Premiere Elements 12 is so damn aggravating LOL!
Here's v2: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6y44f1k6wg3xjcb/Serene Lake A Test Build 2.apk?dl=0
Changes (screenshots of both versions below):
- Added support for round watches...just because.
- Larger Clock (active)
- Larger "peek card" previews
- Fixed spacing issues and made room for status icons and hotword indicators (status icons are now top left on a square watch and the "okay Google" is top right).
- Clock/Date now are unchanged from the Active to Ambient screens.
- Overall, the design has changed slightly but still retains the same overall feel of the promo graphics you posted (the way LG had it set up in that pic could have never worked for an actual watch face because of spacing issues with status icons and notification cards...things would have overlapped somewhere).
Note: Curious about your Instagram notifications. Having said that, no settings that I can change can exclude any particular applications from displaying notifications.

Version 1 Ambient:
Just downloaded it! Waiting for it to pop up on the watch! Can't wait to see! And ahh yes programming in general is a pain! I don't know how you do it.. Haha.
Looks great!! The only tweak I would do to version 2 however is raise the clock (and date) with the Google symbol a little more up, so there can be more space between the big peek card and the clock, date and Google symbol (same for ambient mode) kind of like in version 1. Or will there not be enough room? Let me know! I circled the space in the attached pic.
Also, not too sure what you mean by status icons.. and them being on the top left. I must admit, I don't know what a status icon refers to or what it means. Would this have an effect on shifting the clock, date and Google symbol a little more up?
I want you to know that I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. This is incredibly kind of you. Can't wait to see the wallpaper without Photoshop! (The sky is fine the way it is, purple and such, but the way you photoshopped the water is absolutely perfect! So you can leave the water photoshopped and the sky the original way. I love the bioluminescent effect in the water!)
I attached the original wallpaper for convenience!
The status icons and "hotword" do play a role in where you can place things. Normal watch designs need to take these things into account so you aren't layering the system icons over the design's text/graphics. On "normal" usage, you may not even think about these things. But when you get too far away from your phone and your watch disconnects you get a little icon that displays on your screen. Or if you are in "Theater Mode" you will notice a little light bulb on your screen when you double tap to turn on your screen. You do not have the ability to move these around as a user (unless using a service like WatchMaker that allows for this customization)...but developers have to specify their location in their designs. Below are two screenshots of both the square and round watch design with a couple of these indicators showing. This is the same code, but the round ignores the left-to-right instruction and centers them. So you have to account for these things. And you can't move them anywhere...so I can't put them on the very top edge of the screen (that sucks IMO).
I can't center the icons on the screen without the system forcing the small peek cards. Like I said...I wish we had more control over the exact placement of these things and maybe that will come (at first you couldn't move them at all LOL). So that's the reason for moving the clock down when I went to the larger peek cards.
And you're welcome. We have very different taste in watch faces LOL! I couldn't find what I wanted when I got my watch...so I taught myself how to develop them. I still have to utilize a service like WatchMaker for my animated designs because .gif animations are not supported by Google and I haven't figured out how to make it work in code. #Frustrated LOL! But below is one of the 15 designs I'm working on now (all in various color combinations but same design). The animation in this gif is a little slower than actual...but you get the idea LOL! Here the status icons would show up in-between the "12" on the clock and the center info hub. But because I'm using WatchMaker, that is user definable so if someone doesn't like it, they can change it.
So...let me know what you want me to do. I can make the watch exactly the way you want, ignore the fact that the system icons will overlap. But now you know there was a rhyme and reason to me moving everything down. Give me your thoughts.
"PulsedOut Green" #ShamelessPlug
I love how clear you are on matters! Yes, I now know what you mean. There is a method to the madness (lol). Had it hit me that everything was moved down for the status icon spacing issue, I would have never even asked. I guess my deductive reasoning in this area needs improvement! LOL.
Well, I'm actually glad you asked what exactly I want. I'll try to be as clear as can be. Can we try to do a version 1 and a version 2 of the original wallpaper? By version 1 and version 2, I mean exactly as you did before, one with big peek cards and one with small ones.
On this one, it would be awesome if we could leave the sky the way it is, but Photoshop the water exactly the way you did before, making the green and blue colors more vibrant and glowing. You gave the colors in the water a sort of a bioluminescent effect, which was totally awesome!
Now the biggest element.. (drum roll please). I've been wanting to know if it would be possible to add sort of a live effect to the watch face. I've seen live watch faces before (in fact, I own a few). I'm sure the file wouldn't be a gif, so no worries on the whole Google gif issue.
The live effect I would absolutely go nuts about are small, thin shooting stars (maybe like 3 every 3 seconds with a one second pause between loops) going through the sky in a diagonal trajectory.
PLEASE let me know if this is possible, as that would literally be the best watch face on earth. Thanks!
I know that this can be done...I know that the foundation is there. Problem is that I have been unable to get any kind of "non-watch" (anything other than analog clock rotation) to work the way it should through the conventional developer tools from Google.
So, I would personally have to create a .gif file for that animation. That part isn't a problem at all. Me and photoshop are pretty good friends
If I were to create this for you...you would have to purchase the premium version of WatchMaker. It's only $2 and you could get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.watchFrenzy.premium
That's just the only way I personally could create it at this point in time. It would work well...I could have your shooting stars...I could also have various stars in the sky twinkle throughout the animation if you want.
Let me know if that's cool...if so, I'll get to creating it. You said the stars would shoot diagonally...from which corner (right or left)?
FYI...I've got your purple background cropped/enhanced. I'm just not going to waste time developing the watch if we are going the animation route so I haven't created the actual watch for that yet.
It looks great! Yes, let's go on the animation route. I have downloaded the premium watch maker app. Just let me me know what you need me to do. And the shooting stars I would like from the right corner. Would it be ok if we do it for both this new, purple sky watch face and for the one I'm currently using? It would be nice to have both. So, just let me know!
Here are the animated .gif files for the background. Thoughts?
My next step would be to take the gifs, make the watchface, package it up in a nice & neat little .apk file and then you just install the app on your phone and the watches will automatically import into the WatchMaker app.
Funny side note: My original animations which I wish I hadn't deleted...had some "shape" to them. I wanted to make the stars have a little more substance and I tried to put a little artistic effort into them. This was a mistake as it looked like sperm swimming through the air hahaha! Just made me chuckle and that is why you use straight lines for shooting stars
You can learn "how not to do something" everyday LOL!
Okay, the twinkling stars were a little too bright for me personally. I wanted it to be very subtle so I made a correction to the alpha so they are more subdued. Version 1 & 2 of each are below.
Edit prior to posting: I wanted to see what these looked like on my wrist and the V1 is much more subdued on the actual watch...I think V1 is the way to go.

Here is a beta build for WatchMaker: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1osgu7jy977ygn/ShootingStar Beta v1.apk?dl=0
Install this .apk file on your phone and then open WatchMaker. You will see a little toast message at the bottom that says it has imported each watch face. Click on the watch face and then hit apply. Peek cards, status icons, hotword indicator...those are all in your hands now
Below are previews of the watch faces. I'm going to add different ones that will support round watch faces...and maybe play with the backgrounds and see if I can come up with some cool looking alternatives as well. Figure I'll throw it in the play store for a buck when I get done LOL! Might add an analog clock for the ambient mode...but for now, it's just simply the date and time as is when in active mode.
ShootingStars Square Green
ShootingStars Square Purple
Looks fantastic! Sorry for the late reply. I just have one concern. I guess I wasn't clear when I said "in a diagonal trajectory," should have worded it better. My bad! I meant that I would like the shooting stars to come from the top, right-hand corner of the screen and travel toward the part of the sky where the galaxy is. Would it be ok to do this slight mod? That'd be great!
SO GLAD I FOUND THIS! This is the LG Optimus weather widget animation. The first one (from time 0:06 - 0:16) is EXACTLY what I'm looking for! The exact size of the shooting stars and the way they move (speed and trajectory) is what I want! I used to have an LG Optimus F6, and I would always wish the widget did that certain animation, but it only did it at night time when the skies were clear, which was almost never!!
So, please let me know if it can be done.. I'm so excited! Never thought I would be able to show you EXACTLY what I was looking for! Like no joke! This is great!

I added an analog watch in ambient mode using cool watch hands I'm using in another project. Thoughts?
If the ambient watch face can be the digital one we had before, that would be amazing! Also, can we stick with the same font you used on the previous watch faces (the ones right before the addition of the shooting stars)? Other than that, it is absolutely perfect. Can I have your Paypal email? I want to send you something for all your troubles! I very much appreciate all the help!
Oops...I thought I had the right fonts. I was using roboto-light for the watchmaker builds versus using roboto-thin. I am using roboto-light for the date on this new build cause roboto-thin wasn't looking very good (too thin for the date font size).

I responded via PM about the PayPal donation. Your offer is appreciated. In lieu of a donation, you could always pick up one of my other watch faces My main project I've been working on is done and I'm excited about this one: http://androidforums.com/threads/official-developers-post-your-watch-faces-here.902760/#post-6914265
The marketing video took damn near as much time as building all the watches did LOL!
You're right! We do have very different taste in watch faces! They are awesome, nonetheless. I love the animation! What I love the most about your designs, however, is that it they tell you so much information! The fact that I'm getting time, date temperature, watch and battery life is just plain kick ass! Literally, all that info at the flick of the wrist! Times like these I wish I had a Moto 360, it would be 15 perfect watch faces for it! I'll be sure to buy your set off Google Play, because like I said, they are awesome!
Thanks! Yeah, I personally like the bright and vibrant designs...something that catches your eye from 10' away
Just FYI, I only own a LG G watch. Need to get a 360 and LG G watch R for testing purposes but just haven't done that yet. The Pulsed out watches do work on all watches (I designed them to be compatible with all watch faces).
If you want that information at a glance, I would suggest adding them to the water area of the watch face. Played for a few minutes...just proof of concept as to how it could look. I could add a background to it to make it look more "finished" but might take away from the overall feel of the watch.
Personally, with the shooting star background, I wouldn't want the info at a glance, just because the water looks so beautiful. One tweak I was going to ask for is big peek cards for the shooting stars watch face (with the digital ambient mode, pretty much the newest one). I just love seeing those big peek cards while in ambient mode!
The peek cards, status icons, the "Okay Google" hotword...all things that you can now configure in the WatchMaker app.
When you select the watch face you want, on the bottom part of the screen you need to scroll down to "Customize Watch" and select it. On the very next screen scroll the bottom and you will see "Indicators", "Hotword (OK Google)", and "Card Settings". The indicators and hotword changes only apply to that particular watch. The Card setings apply to all watchfaces.
You can then check the box for "Large Cards" and "Show in Ambient" and that will make the changes you want
Yes! I tried doing that already but it still shows the small peek cards. Not sure why. Which is why asked if you could make the tweak for me.
