Just curious if it's possible to avoid the 2.5 GB cap? I have to download all of my android stuff using my phone and go over in like 3 days lol

i'm sorry, i guess i was kind of short with that answer. as far as i know there's no way around the throttling. (i could be wrong) i'm pretty sure 4g dosent have a cap and if you pay for hotspot capability it gets you an extra 1gb before the throttle kicks in.
It's ok. I don't get 4g unfortunately. I did try the pay service for a month and speeds were horrible. Thanks though. I figured it was a long shot
I wish they would expand 4g coverage to my area! But the closest to me right now is Columbus, OH and that's an hour away. Guess I'll have to hope for it at some point
They're not expanding Wimax anymore, only taking it down at most. It will be dismantled in 2015.
But you might get LTE so you can grab an S3 when the price drops. 
4g does throttle. I had them throttle me in June, halfway through watching a Netflix movie. It was still fast enough to stream, but I got the text warning me I was about to exceed the limit and another about 20mins later telling me I'd been throttled. Then the Netflix quality became that of an old VHS tape.
I also got throttled one time downloading a large file while using 4G. Had to restart my service for full speed again.
The main reason for the System upgrade was to get Virgin WiMAX customers off of Sprints servers and onto their own so that they can monitor and track your WiMAX usage. Until then they had no real way to check your usage, basically it was 2.5 GB of 3g before throttling, now it's 2.5 GB total data usage, both 3g and 4g in aggregate unless you pay the $15 for the hot spot and then you get an additional 1 GB of data before throttling.

Well it's not a huge deal. I mean, yea, my data slows down but at least it's still there. Hopefully my condition will be under control after another surgery and I can drive to a WiFi spot. Thanks all
A little late here, but if you have the sprint branded evo v, you can flash blurom, sprint files, and theres no throttle ;-) at least ive never had one since ive done it. I heard from one guy tho who has the virgin_mobile branded, that he got a text saying they knew he wasnt on their service and they cut it off til he flashed back to vm. No guarantees on this tho.. a very well known vpn for iphone just came onto googleplay that gives you 3 days free too try then 5 bucks a year for the service that offers data compression so that u can use more data then the 2.5 speed cap bandwith ,
i havent fully tested it yet for myself but thats what id try , hotspot sheild is also a vpn data compression but ive never gotton it to work with any rom ive flashed longer then 10 seconds before disconnecting
you can also try changeing your dns from mobile to googledns or opendns get off your mobiles dns might help although i still get text warnings when i reach 80% of my data but thats just from changeing dns i havent tried the spotflux yet for data compression since its new to android but been around for iphone users for awhile

i never thought of that it is a smart ideal theres alot of roms out there mainly for the sprint version so if u get mms working either gosms or another data messanger for mms that might be the thing to try , i never thought of it and think i might for 1 month straight just too see if i get a warning because its been everymonth a text from VM about the 80% data reached since there upgrades so intrestingly smart creative thought to try

Sorry forgot to mention the mms, it does break it, but i do use go sms for that. I haven't gotten it to work on any jb roms, as of yet, so maybe just ics or blurom. Nega also has a 4G hack built in, maybe another reason it works. But blurom is a beast too and audio is impeccable!

OK flashed the newest Dirty Unicorns for the Evo 3D not the Evo 4g then removed the stock messing app replaced with Gosms also flashed the AngryBean visual voicemail fix so everything's setup to test this theory for a month on the data MMS works visual Voicemail works, told go in options that stock messenger app is missing in settings now ill have to resist my temptations to flash any ROMs for a month or toy with any settings which can be a addiction hard to defeat so i can pass on my finding to u peeps

Really not much more to tell, just dl negas blurom, flash the sprint files, and you should be good to go. I also delete the usage.apk, but not sure that has anything to do with it. Again tho no guarantees and at your own risk. Ive never had any issues but you never know..
Good luck with the jb, ive never had any luck with them and the non throttle, and ive tried them all, except the newest 4.3... I know the feeling on the flashing lol.. Im always trying something, even the og gb roms... Yeah please let us know!

I know it's not like I'm not content with certain roms ,but it is an addiction I'd have say will keep ya updated gives them some time to work out the kinks on PAC Mans 4.3 if there is any at all
Lol, i know the feeling.. Ive been on blurom 99% of the time and almost from the beginning of him making it, but i HAVE to try others too.. Im not holding my breath on 4.3 tho... The devs are awesome at what they do, but as the jb updates, it seems to have more problems, and without HTC releasing anything, we'll never have it all. Jb 4.1.2 still seems to be the best, imo. Im an audiophile, and negas rom has the best sound, especially paired with poweramp. Plus it seems to be the most stable, and with him constantly updating it..
