I had an epiphany and wondered, does anyone think they can port the stock jellybean on the Lg L9
to the spirit. Or if that's even possible. With errything working.

Great idea. Let's see what pg or shabby thinks. Even gt. They're the big dogs in this section.

Well PG is our closest shot so far with his CM10 rom. Cyanogen is built directly from AOSP anyways. It might be pretty tricky to get a complete AOSP rom to run on our phones, but it's definitely not impossible. Unless it is.

The best way to do things, amigo :smokingsomb:
Do it from scratch so you know it's done right.

Also, the L9 comes stock with ICS 4.0.1, but comes with updates to 4.1.2. Either platform has LG's Optimus interface (unfortunately not stock, which most of us are wishing for) and would probably be more a hassle to port over rather than making a completely new rom from source.

It would still be good to have though. Especially if everything would work. Once I get this PC up I'll dip my hands in it but I'm far from an experienced dev. So no promises.

Of course it'd be something good to look into, no one wants to keep their phones stuck on an outdated OS :D

Welp, I attempted porting from 2 different phones (Lucid 2 & L9) which both have JB 4.1.2.

I don't know why I bothered since you can't port JB to ICS. Base and Port must be of same OS.

To further make things more difficult, the L9 and Spirit have different CPUs which makes it near impossible to port even if they were the same OS.

In conclusion, here are your options for Jelly Bean....

    1. Use current CM10
    2. Wait for PG to finish CM10
    3. Enjoy phone with what we have
    4. Or buy a phone with JB

Oh Oh, you can build it from source yourself. :p
