Historically I have always used cheap screen protectors and never had any issues because I keep my phone protected. Now that I'm getting a note 4 I want to step up my level of protection for the screen. I am interested in one of those glass screen protectors.

User of glass protectors, what have your experience been with them?

is there really a difference between name brand screen protectors?

Will cheap glass protectors work just as well?

Where do you recommend I get them from?

I love the tempered glass screen protectors! They are SO MUCH more scratch resistant than the regular old plastic ones. I have always gotten the MYBAT brand, but I'm sure others work just about the same. I really recommend them!

Some people have said that they have seen a difference in quality for the cheap ones. I paid $24 for the one on my son's iPhone 6 plus and he dropped it the next day. The tempered glass screen protector cracked on the edge at the bottom but the phone didn't have a scratch. That to me, means it did it's job. I have since had him put another glass protector on it. My thoughts are that like most things, if you by name brand you should be fine. I have ordered some things that shipped the slow way from China that turned out to be good products and I have ordered some things that came on that same slow boat across the ocean, that I consider to be a waste of money. Since phones now cost over $700, I tend to spend a few dollars to protect them, especially since I've had a few drops in the past.

Glass protectors simply mimic the real thing better than the plastic ones.
Also with the Note series the s pen is a major reason why glass protectors are desired over the others. Some glass protectors are very hard to take off, so I'd do my research and find ones that are easy to remove. I also suggest going with more known brands as opposed to cheaper glass from unknown manufactures.

I ALWAYS buy from Tech Armor. They are very easy to put on and are crystal clear. If you break them, send them a photo of the broken glass and they send you lifetime replacements with no questions asked

I have used the Spigen version in the past when I first got my S4. I didn't like it because the adhesive didn't stick after a while. The corners started bubbling up and eventually I had to take it off. The edges chipped really easily, too.

Was that tempered glass or plastic?

Do not purchase the Zagg Glass SP for the Note 4. It is a great product, however do to new shape of Note 4 glass, the protector does not seal proper around the edges. Zagg was contacted and stated they do not have plans to change design. Don't waste your money unless they correct the issue. I will be returning my Zagg product today.

Due to the curved edges on the screen of the Note 4, I don't think that it is possible for any manufacturer to make a glass screen protector that completely covers the screen. I believe Spigen have sized theirs so that it only covers the flat part of the screen and that seems to be the only solution.

Thin glass and curves just don't mix.

That is precisely what I meant.

The OP wants a screen protector that completely covers the screen. That screen protector has curved edges (not sharp) but not curved edges that follow the curved edges of the screen (almost impossible to manufacture from glass and deliver intact in my opinion). It just sits on the flat area of the phone screen.

Ouch I hope my case kinda fills in that gap then...I'm still waiting for my screen protector to come in..
  16. did you mean the flexible screen protector glass 24.99 and its better to get the 12.99 cheaper one?

Zagg is overpriced anyways. I've always buy the ones from Tech Armor. They are strong and crystal clear. And you get lifetime replacement without having to send the broken screen back first. you just take a pic and send it to customer service and they'll ship you a replacement in 5 days.

I know of no glass screen protector that follows the curve of the glass on these phones so you're always going to get that open seal on the edge. Same thing with the glass protectors on the iPhone 6 since that also has a curved edge as well. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. It's less noticeable with a case.

At first I was not happy with my zagg tempered glass bc I had a N3 and had tempered glass and it covered more of the screen, then read this post and discovered that the N4 has a bit of a curved screen, so awesome there, but that makes sense as to why verizon is also selling a flexible glass screen protector, it feels like a normal plastic screen protector, but it covers more of the screen...I got the tech 21 case and with the zagg being the size it is, its like its a case friendly screen protector.

I bought one at a mall from a Titan booth, nice glass but yes, the curved edges are a problem. There is a market waiting to be exploited here!

there has been a load of posts on this and search should help. As before, I don't like them as they can get tatty around the edge and also you have the lip where the physical button is. Also if you don't fit it perfectly first time it will shatter. I've seen no better protection from these (and they shatter) over the normal film type protectors having dropped phones with both.

I'm currently using the normal type protector from spigen and after a month its holding up well. I got 3 packs as i always waste a few getting them on right with no dust trapped.

I gave up trying to find a screen protector that fits the curved edges. Went for an "Ultimate Shield" in the end. If anyone's in the UK I'd recommend it, it seems to be one of the few that haven't been withdrawn from sale at the moment. I'd have got a Spigen if I could, but am just as happy with the Ultimate Shield, it's clear, good feel, only a small halo.
