the pink and clear are hard snap on cases
When I ordered mine the first few minutes that it was available, there were silicone covers available online. Now I did find a website that actually offers some cases, it is HTC DROID Eris Cases Store - Fommy.com I am still searching for some more. They have hard snap-on cases there. That is basically what I am looking for, but there will probably be a lot more within a few weeks.
i am going to wait until they start selling the different ones on ebay
I put the clear hard case on my Eris and thought it was very solidly constructed to the point it was actually difficult to take off (which I guess is a good thing so it doesn't pop open on its own) - I just liked the shell/holster combo better and after a full day of wearing it I stick by my decision.
i agree. i like the shell/holster my self i had it for my storm
I got my Zagg Invisible Shield today and I was pretty disappointed. I should have done more research before buying because I didn't realize I was going to have to soak the protector in a solution and apply it to the phone wet. I tried it and ended up with a mess - lots of bubbles and lint under the protector. I am going to return it and probably pick up a static adherence one like this:
ScreenGuardz for HTC Droid Eris - ScreenGuardz
Thanks for the review of the Zagg... I've been curious about them, myself.
Hope ya have better luck with the ScreenGuardz... let us know!
im just gonna go to the mall and get invisasheild they are custom made for the phone i had one on my storm and i loved it
I have the shield and holster from Verizon. I love the case, and very rarely use the holder b/c the shield is so nice.
HOWEVER, I CANNOT feel the weak vibration of the Eris when it is in the holster! Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes, I am too not feeling the vibration as much as I would like. Coming from my BB Curve that was never an issue. I have the case and holster, it is nice!
I bought the bundle from verizon with the shields and had them install it in the store. Works great. You can see and feel everything.
Thinking about placing an order for this "rubberized" case for my Eris...
[eBay item #300367353777]
Only $10... Free shipping... and seller seems extremely reputable there on eBay. Looks pretty decent, it just "blends in", not flashy. Exactly what I'm looking for.
Just thought I'd throw that out there in case anyone is looking for an inexpensive case like this.
Those are not the instructions I remember from Zagg at all. The last time I ordered from them, they included a small spray bottle filled with a mild solution. You were to lightly spray the whole shield so that it would slide around on the screen. This was to activate the adhesive and allow for the shield to be placed exactly where you wanted it (i.e. you could slide it around). The instructions said to apply in a very clean area to avoid dust, lint, pet hair, etc. You were to wash your hands first and handle the product with damp hands to avoid smudges. They included a card to squeegee the moisture out from under the shield. You were to wait at least a few hours to allow the shield to "set up." It took about 24 hours to completely set and for all the bubbles to disappear.
I followed those instructions and my Invisible Shield looked great. Lasted over a year. Ordered one for my Eris, and I expect it to be just as good.
I got something similar to this at Verizon when I bought the phone. Some things I did not like about it:
1) The security feature (not viewable from side) made the display a bit blurry
2) Dampened the sensitivity to touch a bit.
3) REALLY messed up buttons at the edges, which included the notification bar. BIG minus. I tried to remove and re-lay to alleviate this problem and ended up with bubbles and lint.
Waste of $15.
Yes, I am also having a problem feeling the vibration when it is in the holster.
The vibration on the Eris is quite inadequate.
yeah that sounds awesome, spraying a bunch of liquid on an electronic.
Hope you are not disappointed that the Eris Invisible Shield does not come with a spray but a sponge instead. Same instructions that you describe are included in the package (well, not in so many words) but this is a bit extreme for applying a screen protector. The liquid could do more damage than what the plastic ends up protecting. I'd rather my screen be naked.
daydeal has these, semi ridgid covers
HTC DROID ERIS Accessories
Pretty sure that's the exact same case I ordered from eBay last night. It was only $10 with free shipping, and it already shipped this morning. I really prefer to "feel" cases in person before buying, but I figured it was a good enough deal I should just jump on it -- especially since no one locally is selling anything similar.
Anyway, as soon as I receive it I'll post a little mini-review!
Grrr, the forum isn't posting my link correctly for some reason so when ya click on it, it breaks.
If you are interested, just search for eBay item #300367353777.
Haha....it's not exactly a "bunch" of liquid. More like the amount that would come out from one squirt of breath spray or something. And you spray it on the film itself, not your device. As you squeegee the solution out from under the film, you immediately soak up any excess solution with a lint-free cloth. You do all this with the battery out, mind you. Zagg has some pretty good instructional videos on their website.
I definitely understand your apprehension in doing this. I wouldn't recommend it for most people. Better to just take your device to a Zagg kiosk in a mall and let them do it, or just buy the screen protectors Verizon sells. In the end, there's not much difference.
Ladies,Gentlemen.....I told you i would inform wen this came out andit has...its back ordered but its available....
