I remember reading that you could touch the screen to show the camera where you wished it to focus.
I was trying that and in holding the focus spot on the screen after a second or so the camera snapped the shot. No push of track thingy.
    Replicated.
Did I just miss this info? I was really surprised.
For me, this makes the shot really steady and clear.
I hope this is not 'old news' but I could not find this info after a couple of forum searches.

lol I cannot figure this out. I tap the screen and release quickly and it autofocuses (like normal).

If I just hold a spot on the screen nothing happens. Then when I release it autofocuses but doesn't take a picture.

After about 10 tries holding my finger down, I got it to take a picture, but can't figure out what I did differently?

You need to wait a bit after turning on the camera, or taking a pic. You will notice it focus a little, and center focus square will turn green then disappear. Now you can hold your finger to take a pic.

NOTE: If you held down too early, and it is not taking the pic. Slide your finger down a litte...but make sure you held on for atleast 3 seconds or it will just bring up the brightness adjustment.

Oh, and yea...sorry. This was already listed in the tips and tricks section. It's good to know though:)

You have to tap, let it focus then tap and hold.

    Good luck!

    thx for the tip.

I wish the camera could remember its flash setting.

I usually turn off the flash so i dont freak people out, but when i back out of the camera app the flash automatically turns back to auto.

Nothing like trying to sneak a camera shot in slightly dark bar, and scaring the hell out of half the people there.

    ;)

AWESOME!!!!!! yes this is much better than auto focus THEN pushing the optical joystick. Picture quality is much better this way...

    This phone rules!

Good stuff. I've been using the delay for taking pics because there is a 2 second delay option. This did wonders for improving my stability with the phone since it doesn't snap the pic as you're pushing the button in.

This tip needs to be added in like 72pt bold font to all tips and tricks threads. This has significantly improved my picture clarity. Thanks a ton!
