This may have already been discovered but this weekend while holding my Droid I stumbled upon a cool (maybe useless) feature. If you have the "Google Search" shortcut on your home screen like I do, all you have to do is lightly shake the Droid to activate the search feature. You have to be on the same home screen as the Google Search shortcut. The weird thing is I cannot reproduce my findings 100% of the time. For instance, this morning it worked 7 out of 10 times. Oh well.........
Are you sure your not just hitting the magnifying glass button on the right corner? I know it is pretty easy to hit by mistake especially being a touch sensitive button and not tactile.

It was quite clear from my post that I wasn't having problems using the phone to the point where I would need a Users Guide. But thanks for..........well anyway have a good day.
I wish all the bottom buttons were real buttons. I'm constantly hitting them by mistake and screwing up whatever it is I'm working on at the moment. Probably my biggest gripe about the Droid. I have to go thru this conversation every time I hand my phone to someone else to show them a photo or cool app: Me: Here check this out. Them: Oh cool....wait I don't know what happened, it disappeared. Me: *sigh* Yeah you can't touch any of the buttons at the bottom. Them: Oh....well that's a pain in the ass. Me: Yes, it is. Them: Well, how am I supposed to hold this thing? Me: Very carefully.
Guess I need more direction on the shaking method to make this work. Either that or drink more coffee so the shaking is more spontaneous......
baahahahaha...what a silly thread...it does not do anything to shake phone people! Unless you install a special app or something
Yes it is a art that takes much time to master, I have become so well skilled that I am as smooth as a dove when doing it.
Hahaha... A bunch of blind Droids with hairy palms. Back on topic, sorta, I have the problem with accidentally hitting that search button, too... and I've yet to use it intentionally. Hmm... Too bad there's not a way to disable it all together.
The search button has to be the most annoying "feature" on the Droid. Whoever thought that up needs to be brained a few times with a crowbar. Mike
