    Hi all
Was out and about today. Unlocked phone and swiped to right screen to access
Email and my tasks widget deleted itself! Oops!

It could do with being a bit slower off the mark for widget deletes imo

    Cheers
    Dan

Actually this happens more frequently than it should.

I wish there was a "lock screen" setting, that once you click it, then you can't remove / add widgets, unless you change that setting.

That would make accidental long presses, removal / add of widgets a thing of the past.

Huh. I've never had this problem myself. I wonder if it's because I have HTC Sense on my phone? Maybe a different home screen app would help, Like Launcher Pro?

Or maybe I've just been incredibly lucky so far?

On a side note, perhaps you should change your signature AindroidSPCS? I think you've gone beyond being a "new android user" :p

I honestly don't know how you can remove a widget/app from a homescreen by accident - you have to press and hold on the icon til the phone vibrates, then pull it down to the bin at the bottom of the screen - you'd have to be pretty ham-fisted to do both those actions without wanting to.

You can remove it accidentally, if you have folders on your home screen. You can accidentally drag it to another folder, which I have done, or accidentally drag it off the current screen to another screen. This can happen especially if the phone is laggy, like my Samsung Moment which took seconds to register the touch and move it. And you have no idea what it did because it was laggy and then moved the shortcuts all of a sudden.
