So I just got my new phone and I honestly don't know how I did it but I deleted my voice mail and message widgets. It's not just the widget though it's the whole app. When I select it it says "the linked program is no longer installed on your phone". I just downloaded a text message app but I'd like to have the voice mail one back so I can use it instead of having to call *86.

I don't think I have a back up. I just got the phone last night and I haven't personally made a back up. Any suggestions?

    Factory reset.
Thankfully you've only had the phone for a bit, so the setup shouldn't take you too long.
    Settings>SD & phone storage>factory reset.

Am I missing something in this convo? All I have to do is press and hold the 1 button to get to voicemail.

Do you mean the green application icon for voice mail? Did you simply remove it from your screen?

I looked briefly, but I don't see an actual widget for voice mail.

Yes, the green icon. It's not just from the screen. I did it to the message icon too. I don't know how. I had to download a texting app so that I could text message. It seems I'm not getting pictures messages from people and I'm thinking maybe that's why too.

As far as your ability to text people, your text message capabilities are in you "mail" app. Second icon on the bottom slide menu inside the app.

With your inability to receive mms not working I'm not sure. I use Handcent and haven't had any problems. What happens when you send yourself an mms? If you get it, the problem is your friends phone. Not yours. If you dont, you should call Verizon or go into the store.
