will rooting affect getting the Froyo update when available?
2acclaim, you should be able to get Froyo at some point, but with a rooted device, you may not be able to get the official US Cellular release. You might have to wait until someone comes out with a rooted version. I know in the past, when I ran leaked betas on my BlackBerrys, and when I ran with an HTC PPC6800 modified to run WinMo Pro 6.1, I was unable to install US Cellular apps like My Contacts Backup because the phone was not recognized.
well I'm hoping it comes to us soon. The froyo update will pretty much dictate whether or not I feel the need to root. A few of the updates I've read about Froyo will take care of some of my concerns.
2acclaim, you could always flash your phone back to its original kernel/ROM, then upgrade to Froyo officially when available.
Im looking for the latest acclaim root kernel.tar version that works. Anyone know where I can find it?
