Hi,
I am trying to root my DHD with Ace Hack. It has completed S-OFF, ROOT and Clockworkmod. However it has started updating radio, but has been stuck on waiting for device for the last half an hour. The phone itself is stuck on the HTC logo. Any advice will be very welcome. I am running Windows 7 64bit. I have stopped all virus etc and followed the manual completely.
Many thanks
Ian
P.S. would it be worth trying to run this again using a different USB port and if so, how do I go about running it again. Do I need to restart the phone or just leave it plugged in.

no offence meant to you, but i don't know why people aren't following the advice that is given right in the hack kits manual. I'm pretty new to rooting as my post count and join date shows, but i have seen enough posts already to know that people who decline to follow every recommended step usually fall into trouble.

If your PC environment is not ready to run this kit, there is a good chance your device will not boot properly until you fix your PC or switch to another and re-run the hack kit from the partial boot. READ THIS ENTIRE POST and READ THE EFFEN MANUAL! There is no substitute for READING for COMPREHENSION.
My advice would be to try this (the easiest would be to just boot your computer with a ubuntu live disk) or go to the hack kit's dev irc chat and ask them for the best course of action. They are pretty good for helping people out of jams, but be sure to re-read the manual before going in there because if they suspect that you haven't, they won't help you until you do ;)

freenode Web IRC (qwebirc)

For anyone else who is about to root their phone with the kit; choosing to decline the advice from the manual of using a Ubuntu live cd is likely to put you into trouble. there really shouldn't be any reason not to use the ubuntu live cd except in very unique and special circumstances. All it takes is one driver/application to be running on Windows to screw the whole thing up.

good luck!
