Ad-Hoc (anyone using it)?

I am unfortunate enough for the Epic Touch not to have strong enough signal to get Wifi in my bedroom at my house (neither does my wife's epic). I will not be moving my router to solve this issue so I was wondering if anyone had found a way to use Ad-hoc on the ET. Will it work through Kies?

I saw that it was figured out on some other phones, but didn't want to try the same tricks on mine until they were proven. I'd like to connect to my laptops wifi occasionally.
