Today I flashed the LeeDroid 3.0.7 GB ROM, and I'd like to use adb to remove stock apps. I've never adbed before, so I'm fairly new at this. First problem I have is "adb devices" doesn't show my device, and I guess it was because I didn't have the device driver installed. So i went to the HTC website and downloaded Sync. I don't want HTC Sync, but figured the drivers are included with the installation. After installing, my device still isn't recognized. And when I set my USB connection type to "HTC Sync" on the phone, it can't find HTC Sync on the PC (nor does the PC see his device. works both ways). Is it because I'm using this new ROM that HTC Sync won't find my connected Desire? Not sure what else I should be looking at. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Hi, You will need to be in recovery to use ADB to remove system apps. You may even need hboot drivers installed. Have you gone through the adb & fastboot FAQ in the sticky thread of this forum yet?
@SUroot Thanks. Good tip. Because it says there "For custom ROMs you are about to install, just open the zip in winrar (not extract), browse to system/app and delete the .apk prior to installation." So, I'll probably do that and save myself a bit of trouble (and time). Cheers.
