I know how to sync contacts and so on, but is there any way you can call up your Android Desire address details while connected to a computer and modify them there? It would be a lot easier than using the touch screen keyboard.

Not sure, are they phone / sim contacts?

If they're google contacts you can edit them in gmail.

That's not really a solution since gmail is a very poor contact manager that allows very little detail.

Well just for starters, it doesn't give separate fields for first name and last name which is a basic service of any contact list so you can change which way they display WITHOUT manually changing the entire name field each time.

Google contacts are the quick and nasty aisle at the supermarket.

But that shouldn't matter, my old cheapy Samsung even gave me the ability to edit everything from SMS's to contacts on the PC by connecting through USBm, so the loss of that is a step backwards.

I'm sure when I corrected some contacts on my pc Google supported first and last name fields.

If you detest Google contacts, use outlook and HTC sync instead.
